I really like the 40k terrain. The contrast between the rout iron and the stone looks AMAZING! You really got the grimdark feeling with this recipe. And happy holiday to you!

Dana this really looks great. I like the effects you were able to achieve. Hopefully more scenery makes it to your channel.

Great paint scheme, your colour choices are always spot on. 👍 Big splatters like that from the airbrush can be caused by wet paint on the needle when the air starts. That can happen if you stop the air before the paint at the end of the previous stroke. Not enough air pressure for the thickness of paint can also cause splatter, which is a way to create it intentionally.

I once attended a talk with late illustrator David Grove, maybe most famous among fandom as the Something Wicked This Way Comes poster guy but having a huge and influential media career. Anyway, he used very few colors in his work. Maybe it’s hard to tell now because of poor reproduction samples, especially since he worked pre-computer graphics. He used only true Ultramarine Blue, Burnt Sienna, Cadmium Red and Yellow Ochre. No black, and largely no white except his illustration board background. He used them in such a way you really didn’t notice the limited range because washy moody shadows were his regular trademark and emphasis was on elements revealed from the dark or painted in the strong hues of cadmium red or ultramarine. It was a lot like the Zorn palette but more strongly hued and stylized. Because these colors aren’t staining, he could walk them back through careful removal. Anyway my point is I think his palette would be fantastic for terrain, and lightfast as well. I love your own treatment of the walls here, especially the Tudor elements. Thanks for a year full of thoughtful and beautiful video. Best wishes for more.

I'm curious. Have you ever used any Acrylic Refill paint, like the Grog Aqua-pro or Molotov one4all with your airbrush? For me it was the first ones I've bought a year ago, and I havent felt the need to buy any other types of airbrush paint. I'd be interested to hear how a professional thinks they compare in more detail.

You shouldn't use a paper towel for drybrushing as it takes more medium than pigment so increases the risk of chalky paint. Try removing paint on a non-absorbant surface (textured primed wood for instance) it will work much better. Great video overall though. Keep up the great work.

If you're going that route, it's cheaper to go with a full-strength enamel, and just reduce it, yourself... Thinner is cheap, premix is not.
