Pro painter here. Ceilings are normally painted first in a room to prevent blow back onto walls and trim. Ceiling should also be painted in a flat finish to prevent any light reflection. Walls next, trim last to paint. A satin finish for your walls will prevent burnishing when trying to clean. A primer is always good to use on a darker wall when going lighter, but it also prevents the color from bleeding through your topcoat. No matter what color you are painting, provided it is a stain blocking primer. Any color on your wall in the paint industry is considered a stain.

Sleeping alone is the only way, IMHO, to get a good night's sleep. ♥ Until I fall asleep, I toss and turn a lot, just getting comfortable. When I was married and in the same bed as my husband, I always worried that my shifting about would disturb him, so I would take longer to relax and drift off.

That chiffarobe is gorgeous. You did a fabulous job, and it was the right decision to use the mural. The only thing I would have done differently would be using the old wallpaper to line the drawers in an “homage” to your dark and moody room by AG. As you were pulling it off the wall so easily, I actually was wishing I could have it. (I’m a mixed media hoarder who makes junk journals.) Thanks for another fun video to start my Saturday! 🤗

I was a little skeptical about the mural, but once it was on my immediate thought was "This like Alice through the looking glass" seeing another world. So cool. Love your creative mind.

"No" to adding more wallpaper to the interior of the wardrobe. It looks like the interior of the closet is lined with cedar wood which won't be able to do an adequate job of keeping moths, bugs and mice from eating holes in whatever clothes will be stored in there if the cedar is covered up, if in fact it IS cedar and you want to avail of its preservative qualities. Aesthetically, more wallpaper might be cute but also might be too busy. If it were mine I'd keep it just the way you have it now and maybe put in a battery operated puck light on the front part of the wardrobe ceiling to light up the clothes since the all-wood interior will make it dark. I had also thought of putting a full length mirror on the front panel of the door for bouncing more light around but your idea kind of does that in a fun way. Very cute piece of furniture--nice find! Congrats on the makeover!

Wow, that mural looks fabulous! It's not a painted piece that could get damaged but a paper one that will put up with wear and tear and still invite the viewer to enjoy the illusion of stepping in to the view. Oldie timey versions of these, that door could have been mirrored instead which while reflecting light is kind of disturbing at night in dim light when you are getting up and seeing a shape move across the room and it's just you. Soft, vintage feel, but thoroughly po-mo where the furniture becomes an art frame. Well done, loving this series!

I have that exact wardrobe. It was my mother's that she used as a child. When my younger son was born, (He will be 35 this year), she gave it to me for his use. I painted it in blue milk paint (The wood wasn't in the best condition.) and made shelves on the wardrobe side.

Find a sweet little vintage or antique tray to set on the wardrobe in front of the mirror. Then guests can sit a drink or messy makeup items, etc, down without damaging the wood ☺️

If your still thinking about lining the inside of the wardrobe, I recommend cedar planks. Keep the moths out of your wool suits and smells lovely!

The mural is perfection and I love the piece itself. I really did like The more modern knobs, they look ceramic. But the ones you chose are beautiful. I'm especially excited about the color of the room. I have been debating for months about painting my master bedroom a dark moody color because I love it. But at 68 years old we both need all the light we get to actually see anything and I was worried the room would be too dark. After seeing the difference between your before and after I absolutely know that dark is not a color I can use on my walls. Thanks for all your inspiration.

Love what you did with the wardrobe, the mural is beautiful and those knobs were my choice as well. I’m not knowing if anyone else mentioned this but the closet hanging area looks to be cedar lined which aids in keeping moths from your clothing. If you can’t smell the cedar, give it a light sand to renew its properties. Your husbands suits may have some wool content and the cedar will help keep them safe from bugs making holes in the expensive clothing.

The room already looks 500% better painted in white. What a fantastic find this little armoire is!The wallpapered door looks lovely, but in my humble opinion, the original wooden knobs looked so much better in keeping with the style. I also liked the first white ceramic knobs you tried, they would have looked even better without the (removable?) gold metal filigree.

One thing I have seen for old chesserobe wardrobes is to spray or rub down the interior of the hanging section with cedar oil which can help deter moths damaging sweaters or wool garments.

Very pretty. The closet part of the cabinet looks like it is cedar. If it is cedar just gently sand it to refresh the scent and do not wallpaper it.❤

This is looking amazing! So much more inviting than that dark green. My Dad was a house painter for 35+ years and when spraying interiors he always back rolled after spraying while the paint is still wet you just lightly work the surface with a roller. This promotes better adhesion, eliminates spray lines and spotchiness, drips and sags... Creating a smooth even coat and texture. I'm finishing it interesting that Swiss Coffee is experiencing a resurgence. Growing up I'd say a good 80-85% of the interiors my Dad painted were in the Colors Swiss Coffee or Navajo White. Especially apartment buildings. I guess the 90s trends are truly back❤.

The mural on the wardrobe looks amazing!! The only thing I would change would be the contact paper. Although it is truly beautiful, its butterfly pattern didn’t compliment the mural theme. But the room is looking great!! Can’t wait to see it finished

I think the rest of the mural would look awesome hung and framed on the wall to the left of the wardrobe! Really make it feel like a window to another world.

I was thinking perhaps another narrow section of the mural could be cut to fit the backside of the entrance door to the room.

Love your choice of furniture! Just thought I'd mention that the inside of the wardrobe section is lined with cedar! All you need to do is sand the inside lightly and the wonderful protective fragrance should come right back! ❤ keep up the great work! ( Also, 'Restore a finish' Walnut color might perk up the wood color a bit better than just the polish).😘
