Thanks, Evans! I learned that from a military modeler. I didn't do it nearly as well as the other guy did, but I'm going to keep trying it out. It looks really cool when done properly. Thanks for the anniversary wishes, too!

Hi Joseph -- I use the regular Infinity with a 0.15mm needle. It's been perfect for my needs. I know a lot of guys talk about getting multiple airbrushes (one for detailing, one for priming and basecoating, etc), which I think is a total waste of money. One good airbrush with a small needle is plenty (unless you paint lots of terrain or forgeworld titans). But if you wanted a second option, getting the 2-in-1 is a much more budget-friendly alternative to getting two airbrushes.

Hi Giggity! It depends on a number of things -- the manufacturer, the color, the intended use, and even the characteristics of the specific bottle of paint you're using. But let's say GW or VGC paints, for example. I'd suggest a starting point of perhaps 3:1 thinner to water. You might want to start by thinning on your palette first, then transferring to the airbrush with a dropper. Once you get a feel for how thin the paint needs to be, you can start mixign it up in the airbrush to save time.

I'll say it again- Best tutorial son the web. Good painting and good person. Your work is amazing and something I eagerly look forward to. It was nice to finally see Mrs. Schnauzer face as well to match up to the off camera voice.

Welcome back, and great timing on the choice of model. My friend just started working on his Cygnar after a multi year break. Will have to show this to him. Happy Aniversary!

LOL, that's true! I probably should have picked up replacements for the tubing that connected the coils to his arms, but I never really liked those "crotch barbels" in the front anyway, so I'm not too bummed about missing those. Next time I make a bits order, I'll probably grab those tubes, though. Thanks for watching!!

Hi! I'm using a product that is similar to Silly Putty. It goes by many different names -- "Blue Tack," "Poster Tack, " "poster putty," "Sticky Stuff," etc. It's a product that's used to hang pictures and posters without having to use a nail. You can find it in stores in the same place you'd find products from 3M or Loctite (like tape and stuff like that). Hope this helps!

Awesome video as always. Your tutorials always inspire me to paint, and to improve my skills as a model colorist. I learnt a big deal from your videos, and I hope you will continue to make them. And it is also very cool that you tell something about yourself and your life, and not just name paints like everybody else. This is what attracts attention to your videos, that you are really open to your viewers. And your paintjob is beyond awesome of course. Keep it up man!

Hey man! I've got the Dust model ready to go, and it'll be painted very soon. I was waiitng on an order of stencils so I could put numbers on it, and that finally came in about a week and a half ago, so I'm ready to paint that bad boy! Sorry about the delay, but it's almost here! And I am absolutely going to do more SM tutorials. I like the little terminators as a break between the bigger models. I'll definitely look into those three chapters! Hope all is well -- thanks again!!

But, as I watched more of your work, and your artistic progress, you grew on me! I find your tutorials interesting, helpfull and very inspiring! I am sorry for a certain comment I left on one of your videos a while back, I hope you forgive me. Thanks! Unfortunately I don't have any Khador on the docket at the moment (though I'm painting Jeremie's Conquest, but I'm doing that one off camera so I can get it to him before C&C). I'll look into snagging maybe Black Ivan or something like that. I feel like I've done a lot of red stuff recently! But that Gun Carriage is pretty cool, too, and I could do it in the white alt-color scheme...hmmm.... off to shop around for that, I suppose!

Thanks, psynth! Funny you should mention LoE -- I've tried to do an eThagrosh tutorial three times now, and I think this one might finally look OK. I'd hate to have to throw him in Simple Green again. So there might be a new LoE tutorial on the way!

Hi Jon! I'm sure I'll have some models soon with black (I have been thinking about various Space Mainres, like black Templars, that might be fun). I did discuss black briefly in the Salamanders Terminator video, but I do need to spend more time with that one. The Black Dragon scheme is really cool! I've been a fan of that scheme for a long time. I bet they'll be a cool contrast against all the reds in a Khador army. Maybe I'll see if I can scrounge up a Black Ivan and paint that for a tutorial?
@SchnauzerFaceMinis11 жыл бұрын
Hey kev! I'd probably try purple and red for the blues. On my trollbloods army, I have recently been basecoating first with VMA Hull Red, which is kind of a browny red, then later adding in some purple tones. It looks pretty cool! For yellow ... hmmm...I guess it'd depend on what other colors you've incorporated into the model. I'd say brown purple could bean interesting choice, along with some browns or red-browns. Hope this helps!

Hmmm ... I'd guess maybe 8 hours, perhaps? But that's definitely inflated because the filming process slows me down quite a bit. I have to constantly make sure I'm in frame and in focus, and the lights get kinda hot and I have to take a lot more breaks than I would without them. So I'd say this probably would have taken about 5 hours in regular time?

Thanks, Joseph! I've used Minitaire since they came out, and I'm not terribly impressed. Many dry satin or glossy, and their formula is extremely inconsistent. I hate the frosted bottles, and their metallics are bad. I LOVE the color tones, which is why I still use select Minitaire paints (I really like Nautilus Blue, for example), but other than that, I don't recommend them. I usually pick a paint based on the color, which is why I sometimes use RMS and other times P3, etc. Hope this helps!
