Sort of related- a few weeks back I discovered the existence of de-nib files, as I'm a painting newb, I had a ton of runs on my Dad's van, but after allowing time to dry, they helped knock down the bulk of the runs in no time, meaning only a bit of wet sanding needed to finish the job. Highly recommended if you're learning and don't fancy spending hours sanding back your mistakes.

Hi Brian. Crazy things happen. Tolecut blocks are my favorite for these defects. I like a tape trick. Great explanation. The end result came out slick. Enjoy your weekend. Grab a cold one after baking in the spray booth.

I'm an airbrush artist and primarily work on motorcycles and really only spray 2k clear. I use waterbased paints for mural work. So your vids on clear coats and spray guns have been a great help. I do the tape fix on runs right away while paint is wet, get the bulk out of it. I then carry on and apply another coat or two with extra drying time and the blemish disappears and or is an easy sand and buff later.

I was taught to sand runs out when i was learning how to cut and buff ....colorsand and buff ....how ever you wanna say it ....but used a paint stick and taught to stay on top of the run ....only used nibbers for dirt and dust ......for me taking it slow and taking a hard flat block ....paint stir ...or now i use a lexian block ....made from lexian sheet .....that being said ...i no longer work in the autobody industry and havent for about 20 years now but do have a project i am working on at home .......and a very good painter once told me if your not getting runs from time to time in your clear ....your not applying enough on the pannel .......guess thats why he taught me to water sand and buff way before he ever let me touch a paint gun ......
