What I find more amazing than the sound of these cymbals is how freaking quickly they change the cymbal while the guy is playing! it's astounding the speed. hats off to the crew.

I think we can all agree that the best cymbal here is the snare drum
@Ibanez7400

I do like the snare tuning. However there seems to be a strange ring lingering i dont care for. It is possible something on the rig is loose and reverberating when the snare is hit. The symbols sound good however the combination together could be a luttle adjusted for my taste. All said and done it is just my opinion. There would be no expression of music if we all think the same. I love variety and i respect each and every musician who can express what they experiance through thier music. ;)

@nram3930
@nram3930 4 жыл бұрын
@@vincent-ow8ss I'm not very good at definitions so here is Wikipedia's definition: "Dynamic range compression (DRC) or simply compression is an audio signal processing operation that reduces the volume of loud sounds or amplifies quiet sounds thus reducing or compressing an audio signal's dynamic range. Compression is commonly used in sound recording and reproduction, broadcasting,[1] live sound reinforcement and in some instrument amplifiers." Basically, you make it so quiet things become louder and loud things quieter. This is done in a lot of recordings yet on demos such as this you would usually want the cleanest, unprocessed sound you can get. Watch Carter Mclean's demos if you want an example (he is also just insanely musical which also helps). This is so we can gauge what the cymbals sound like in a live situation, before its masked under effects. As you can guess the compression here really kills the personality of each line, be that an upside with the cheaper lines or a big downside on the more expensive ones.

Some of those sure are amazing. One thing that's always stopping me from getting a set of Paiste cymbals, is the fact that almost all their crashes are very high pitched. I don't think that I own anything smaller than 18". Even most of the low crashes in this video are higher than my high crashes. Not saying that they don't sound good - they do.

Paiste is made using "Swiss" technique, cut from rolled metal sheet of uniform thickness. Whereas "Turkish" cymbals have per-cymbal unique hand-made tonal characteristics, Paiste are drop-in identical sounding cymbals given same size and series.

+Harrison Myers the Signature Classic series will cover those styles of music. You can mix and match within a series, of course, to dial in a sound for a specific application. For instance you can combine Signature Classic and Signature Dark Energy cymbals, if you need a darker crashes and a ride for Jazz. Signature Precision and Signature Classics combine well too...a 22" Signature Precision Heavy Ride would cover your the Rock and Heavy Rock gigs. We offer a wide array of sounds that are easily combinable. Check out the Signature Precision series, which is also made with out patented Signature alloy, and offered at a more comfortable price point.

I've never owned any Paiste cymbals in my 36 years of drumming but THIS is how EVERY cymbal demo should have been created from the begining. This demo gives you a VERY good way of trying to find "THAT SOUND" we all have in our heads that we search for in a cymbal. I have have never been "loyal" to any of the brands...if it sounds like what I'm looking for then I don't care what brand it is. Currently I have 3 brands of cymbals in my 12 piece Mapex Saturn kit. I have been interested in an Alpha for a while. Good to hear it in a comparison like what's in this video. Zildjian and Sabian currently don't make the 14" crash sound im looking for. ALPHA 14" Thin may be my 1st Paiste. Thanks for such a great video. And yeah!, don't like the bass drum sound at all!

Beeing a beginner I went into the shop, checked all the stuff out, knowing nothing about brands, labels or what. First thing I noticed is that I want a cymbal that gives something like a white noise, having the least trashy sound. And the best sounding cymbal to me was and is the paiste 2002 20" ride! So ignoring the price tag I bought it and because of its sound cherished it and took good care ever since - only to learn about it beeing rather of the high end later. Big grin.

The paiste sounds really cool and awesome. Not only that. They're more very friendly to use a paiste cymbals. I haven't really owned one, but I do love it. Better than zildjian. The Zildjians here in philippines are expensive, usually a K zildjian, though. The first time I heard a Paiste cymbals sound was Tico torres of bon jovi and Tommy lee of Motley crue. They're more notable to use paiste when I was watching their concert on youtube. Paiste cymbals are the no. 1 and best crafted sound in switzerland. 😊👍🙌

Another arctic white/black hardware Saturn!😍 I live in Toronto and my old band was playing a show in Ottawa in 2014. We stopped at Long & Mcquade for a rental kit. We were super crunched for time and needed to be in and right the fuck out but I'd forgotten my sticks at home. I would've never left the rental department otherwise so when I went over to the drum department for a couple of pairs, I turned the corner and there she was: 12x8/16x14/20x20. The kick was a custom order by the original owner. My bandmates were quite pissed at me but I filled in the paperwork and arranged to have it on the next truck to Toronto. It's not too often that I see white Saturns but they always make my day if I happen across one on KZbin or something. Sure, if I continue doing musical stuff, I might buy other kits down the line, but this one is going to stay with me forever. That 20x20 will cut through absolutely anything/burn small venues to the ground.

Paiste user since 1987 (and still using the same 3000 heavy ride since 1987), and even though this was a great comparison video, honestly the difference between each group wasn't night and day as I was hoping to hear (hearing most of the differences in the ride, but minimally). They all sounded great. Even the PST at the beginning, being the most affordable of the bunch. The only thing missing in this comparison was 2- 4 bars of open hihat. I know he did a choke pattern each round but that's not enough to know how they will sound open. And as a rock/metal drummer, mine are open more often than they are closed. Would really love to hear a Colorsound comparison between all the series. I know the 900s are the only ones you can buy new now, but it's still possible to find some decent used 2000, 1000, 400 and even 5. I'm in a new project and have decided to invest in some RED Colorsounds for a visual on stage, but I'm not loving the 900s like I love the 2000s and even 400s. C'mon Paiste, give us a comparison video of the Colorsounds!

I totally have to agree with the whole thing that you said about fast drumming or flashy kits. It does seem like most drummers these days rely on that kind of stuff. But I do disagree with you when you said that Ringo deserves more credit. Don't get me wrong, I love the Beatles, but Ringo really wasn't a good drummer. I heard that he had to use 2 tracks while recording. One for drums and one for cymbals. He did this because of his timing issues.

You can really tell that all the lines are from the same company. All of the Paiste products in this video sound amazing. There is one problem, I think it's the compression and mic's. The RUDE line sound like RUDE but I have never liked RUDE until this video. They all sound the same except for how bright and crisp they are from one another. My GIANT BEAT's sound dark and ominous yet on this video all of the bottom end seem to be washed out by how brilliant each sounds. the only really true or closest ones are the 2002's in comparison to real life. The video is really well done, I guess I'm just really asking is it's the compression, EQ setting's or the mic's that are used in combination. Thank you in advance!

as usual, the GB's and 2002's are still the best sounding. gotta love Paiste, even the cymbals line I don't are still better than everybody else.
