Always love the updates and walk around explanation. Everyone needs to do an occasional walk around their vehicle and see if anything needs fixing. Always important to get underneath it as well and check from front to rear. Look for any leaks of oils or fluids. After driving dusty conditions get the air blower out and takeoff the rear diff breather hose where it connects to body and blow it out, there will be tones of dust. If it gets blocked it can cause excessive pressure in differential causing seals to leak. Thanks Bia for another great video 🤌👏👏

Thank you I didn't think about looking at the breathers and xhexking for dust, so I'll definitely be doing that some stage soon

I have Old Man Emu (OME) from ARB, my Pajero has done cape York 3 times with this suspension and no probs, was cost effective and you can specify the weight you carry front and rear and they will set it up to suit. I tow a hybrid camper with this car and it travels well and sits level without air bags. Tyres are more difficult because it depends on the terrain you are on, some are better in sand etc, make sure you get light truck tyres as they have better sidewalls and can carry more load, upgrade from the 70’s to 75’s, if your doing a lot of sand get tyres with more tread on the sidewall so when you let the pressure down you get a bigger footprint, this also helps prevent rock damage to the sidewalls.
@bia4x4 Жыл бұрын
thank you, yeah im thinking of going from 70 to 75's, i'm just waiting to get a new lift, i don't want to get slightly bigger tyres while my lift is a little sagged, but it's definitely the plan
@marcusemanuel6537 Жыл бұрын
Sweet Paj its looking good! With the rear sag, you can stick some shims in above the rear springs to level out the body, cheap and easy. I just did mine, had the same issue with full load. Other than the sag, scooping sand, (and high headlights) the rear wheel camber will lean in and chew out the inside of your rear tyres. Re shim sizing, measure from lower spring mount to the top mount, then jack car up from towbar until you reach the target height, The difference in those measurements is the shim size you need. they are about 50 Bucks for 30mm. 30mm (or less) will probably do it. check on e-bay 'pajero rear spacer' - The height difference at the wheel is a multiple of this height change at the spring, so 30mm spacer at spring might be 50mm+ at wheel depending on the distance from spring to wheel. Giddy up!
@bia4x4 Жыл бұрын
Wow thanks for all the advice I hadn't heard of shims I'll look into it. Since posting this video tho I've put a new lift in with a larger load rating, tho its very new so at the moment it's not sagged yet, but if I notice it sagging I'll do what you've mentioned thank you again!

I had BFG 2 T/A like you did. 1 had multiple cracks & the other had its inside case come loose (Very dangerous) Have has Nitto Ridge Grapplers for the last 4 yrs. Absolutely awesome. Only others I can recommend are Mickey Thompson AT3, almost as good, just very noisy.

I’ve got the dobinsons ims lift with Lovells springs, my rears also sagged a bit due to weight since fitting the rtt and custom fridge slide and drawer etc so now I need to change the springs You may be able to get away with just uprated springs also rather than a new lift. Though I highly recommend the ims shocks

I was between maxxis and yokohama XATs, so glad I went with the yokis. They are a hybrid all terrain\ mud tyre. Off road grip is exceptional and they are really suprisingly well mannered on road too. Regularly you can find a 4 for price of 3 deal with yokohamas.

Hey Bia, well thought out and put together. For the rear bumper, grab the rear bash plate from Boo's Bash Plates. For suspension ive been running kings springs + kyb skorched4 shocks in my 2013 paj. Shocks are reasonable but I probably won't buy them again.2 years with no issues at least. Scratches are just travel tattoos!
@bia4x4 Жыл бұрын
i have thought about the rear bash plate I look online every now and again just waiting for them to go on sale haha i think last time i checked bushskins were about $800 for the one guard which is a bit ridiculous, but ill have a look into boo's bash plates i don't even know if they're still running i've heard they've shut down, thank you

Have a look at Radar Renegade R/Ts. I bought a set of 5 and they are great offroad (sand, mud) noisy on the road but the change left over in your pocket is louder. A set of 5 won't break the bank. I run a 2in Dobinsons lift.

Hope that was helpful Wolf.

@@bia4x4I hear ya. No worries. On the suspension I’d recommend the Dobinsons gear. Yes it’s expensive but so are all the prominent brands. Trust me when I say you’ll be so happy you bought quality suspension when you pick the car up and drive back home. I guarantee it. It’ll soon pay for itself on your big lap. 😉🍺

How have the maxitrac draws held up? Any annoying rattles or failures?
@bia4x4 Жыл бұрын
they've held up well i haven't had any problems and i haven't noticed any rattling, i recommend them over the kings ones, the only thing i would change on them is i with they were about 50mm wider, i think they are slightly skinnier than kings drawers. but all in all i payed $300 for them and ive found they are worth the money

Hi Bia, great video as always. As i have similar year/km on mine in stock I am not quite sure if it is worth for me to do upgrades such as bar, winch, lift and bash plates. Would you say it is better to sell and buy something "younger" or do the upgrades on current car? It is fair sum of money to spend on older car.
@bia4x411 ай бұрын
Yeah I totally understand what your saying sometimes I think should I be spending all this money on my car or should I get a maybe 2015/16 one to upgrade. But, I'm definitely planing on keeping my paj for as long as possible, the prices of the newer ones have gone up a bit and I can justify spending the money while I already have a perfectly working car. I would just recomend buying things 2nd hand and installing them your self if possible. That's why I post the videos I do, everything I'm doing to my car is a first for me and I'm learning and putting it out there for other people wanting to do the same. I've definitely saved a lot of money buying things 2nd hand and installing myself, but obviously it can come with risks, just double check anything you buy 2nd hand before installing.
@lentman11 ай бұрын
Sound advice, thank you. Maybe I will spend the current and save for the next gen Paj 😂

Aftermarket bashplates. The bane for mechanics, especially those heavy/thick or realy big ones. Even worse are ones that are terribly designed or no consideration was put into how easy it would be to install. Isuzu do really nice ones from factory. Big hole that the bolt slips through easily, pull the plate back then the hole is smaller on the one side then you just tighten it.
@bia4x4Ай бұрын
Yeah I hear you bc I know when I'm working on my car how heavy they are to take off and put on alone, essentially when I'm working laying down on the ground with not much room. At least mechanic can jack the car to a comfortable height. But I always remove my bash plate for the mechanics if I'm dropping it off to them. They might be heavy and thick but they definitely do serve a great Job!

Here in the US, Pajero's have a bad reputation in terms of reliability, but countries like yours which are like heavily unpopulated are using them without any issues. My cousin is trying to sell his 01 Pajero (montero here) and the price is dirt cheap (price of a 95 corolla) but no one wants it. It runs and drives well. I do not like to end it in a Junk Yard.
@bia4x4 Жыл бұрын
That's unfortunate, because as you said they are quite a reliable car here and I don't know anyone where that's ever had major issues with them
