I love your videos! We have the same kayak in the same color (Sunshine) and the same AquaBound paddle (except I have the Sun Ray color way). I also use the Insta360 camera for paddling as well! I love the X3! Such a beautiful video - it really inspires me to edit my videos and share more.

Thank you so much! I suppose those gears and equipments are something we all come down to find how suitable for what we do on the water..! Pakayak let me own a full size rigid kayak in Tokyo. The bright body color is quite helpful for drones to keep up the tracking mode. 360 cameras are such a breakthrough for these types of activities...! Got to say we are lucky to live with modern techs!

Cool video. Looks like a great river to paddle? How do you mount your 360 camera onto your kayak so that you can get the third person view? Most of my Insta360 footage looks a bit ‘fish eye’ when I zoom out during editing.

Hey thanks! It is a nice 'n humble river between Tokyo and Chiba. The Edo River is long and flat with plenty of natural scapes while it runs through densely populated metropolitan area. No lock gates, weirs or dams for 50km. Almost no power boats. Some river islands to hop onto. LOTS of trashes 😭 but quite ideal river for paddlers. I just mounted the stick onto the bag in stern with bungee nets. As long as the nets are tightly secured, it will do the job👍Make sure to check the fitting and don't extend the stick too long. Probably not suitable for extremely choppy bouncy conditions.

@@WildEddieProductions Thanks for the reply. I presume your kayak is longer than mine so that your 360 footage looks better. I also mount my camera on the stern or bow using the a 109cm long extendable stick but I often only extend it to 70-80cm at most. When I edit using 360 Studio on my Mac, the footage tends to look 'fish eye' when I zoom out.

@@TheKayakCrew Yeah, I suppose we need to find the right angles and distances. To achieve the third person view, I set the 360 camera somewhat outward, giving some angle to the stick. So it'd be away from the body. It could cause issues on horizon of the footage sometimes, then I just fix it in the post by using Insta360 Studio.

Ok, I see. I will have to find some secure way to mount my stick at an angle I guess. Mine is just on a tripod so looks straight down the kayak.

@@TheKayakCrew Tweaking around is always the fun part! Like I explained earlier, I just use bungee cords and nets to hold the stick onto the stuffed dry bag. So, they act as a tripod in my case. Then I lay it on the kayak, so the camera will be extended outward horizontally.
