Why are most travel backpacks so heavy? Don’t the designers know there’s a thing called carry on weight limit?
@RushfasterTV Жыл бұрын
Hey! It's a mystery to me too! Maybe they think we all have superhero strength? 😄 Seriously though, it's a head-scratcher. Lighter backpacks = happier travellers! I hope they can reconsider it in the future.
@frezzingaces Жыл бұрын
They're designed for US flights, by US companies where the carry on weight limit is a lot higher. A lot of carriers in europe too don't have a weight limit, but a volume limit. Weight limits of under 7kg are only really a thing in south east asia and the pacific.
@dave.in.oregon7 ай бұрын
They also weigh less than roller bags. So it’s relative weight.
@P-RJ74 ай бұрын
Can confirm about the US disregarding weight limit! I took multiple domestic flights in the US last year with a 15kg+ carry on roller case - However, because it fit the within the allowed dimensions, no one batted an eye. One Bag/Carry On only travel can be super challenging here in Australia. With most "travel" bags being 1.5kg or more, you're looking at having only around 5kg for clothes, toiletries and electronics, prompting some interesting sacrifices to what you bring or questionable outfits worn on the flight!

The AirTag pocket is challenging to get to and insert the tag because it is in a narrow pocket and it’s hard to fit your hand into it.
@RushfasterTV8 ай бұрын
Given its narrow pocket, inserting the tag can be challenging, especially for those with larger hands. A potential solution could be to use a tool, like a ruler or a long, slender object, to help guide the AirTag into the pocket:)
@dave.in.oregon7 ай бұрын
The air tag pocket is in the admin section of the bag. Inside one of the other smaller pockets. V1 of this bag didn’t have one…. But it did have a “hidden zippered pocket” behind the back panel around the shoulder height. I haven’t seen anyone mention this so I’m assuming they removed it. I’m getting mine delivered early next week so I’ll confirm then.

Hello. We actually enquired with Pakt regarding this item last month but they're unable to provide an ETA due to limited availability. Kindly sign up for our newsletter. Hopefully, we can source this to AU and we will inform you about it, together with our latest products. Cheers!

Are there any similar bags to this (suitcase-style, with some huge pockets that can be sealed off with mesh like a suitcase, large) that are cheaper with some nice features and feel? I love the style of this backpack and its similarity to a suitcase for bulk packing, but I hate the price.

Hi there! Thanks for your comment. Yes, the 45L has all the same features as the 35L, just with a bit more capacity. It includes the same front pocket and side pocket for water bottles.

@@RushfasterTV ah So the main compartment both side is less than 45l ?
@Rawafication Жыл бұрын
Do the two internal compartments essentially share the same space with the divider? Meaning if you pack one too much it takes up space immediately away from the pocket on the other side of the divider?
@jonniebox9656 Жыл бұрын
I would guess yes
@jamesm6830 Жыл бұрын
No, actually it acts as non-Euclidean geometry and breaks the fabric of space and time meaning it's possible to pack more inside than the total volume.
@RushfasterTV8 ай бұрын
The Pakt Travel Backpack 2 features two internal compartments separated by a divider. While the divider helps to organize and separate your items, the compartments essentially share the same space within the backpack. If you pack one compartment too much, it may encroach upon the space of the other compartment, especially if the divider is not rigid or if the items are bulky. This design allows for flexibility in packing, but it's important to consider the balance of items in each compartment to optimize space and avoid overcrowding.

I was drawn to this the travel pack for the less attention grabbing (thus less prone to theft or robbery) design, color choices and durable materials used. The clamshell dividers are uniquely practical for a more wrinkle free travel. I like the zip out expansion pack that can also fit the 15 liter day pack while transiting but one has also the option of using it as part of the under seat stowage in a larger commercial plane too. I am guess 45 +10 =55 liters in total would not be accepted at carry-on by most airlines. The 15 liter day pack with that is amazing flexibility both sliding into the expansion pouch or under the seat carry-on is perfectly thought out. The 35 & 45l v2 travel back pack is out of stock and overprice for non US residence. It does not include the 15l day back which is another overpriced $185USD. The daisy chain loops don’t have much of a functional use. The hip strap does no longer double as a fanny pack as like in version 1. I would to compression packing cubes instead of the PakT branded ones regardless of the loops. The clip-on pouches are very expensive for they lack luster utility. There are more functional and cheaper one out there that make more sense. The front 2 pouches can’t be combined into an one cable locking system like Peak Designs 45 liter. The aluminum back stays have been replaced with a cheaper plastic set. The water bottle pouch is not long enough to be used alternatively, as a tripod or monopole & stand pouch.

This bag pretty much checks off all the features for one bag travel. For me the deal breaker is the laptop storage being in the middle of the bag. It limits the amount of space you can pack since having a laptop on top of your clothes is like having a solid lid. I would have been better if the laptop storage was moved to the back of the pack. I would be tempted to cut it out and put the laptop in the slot where the day bag is stored.

The 45L (or 35L) goes in the overhead. The 15L secondary bag can be taken out to store under the seat and use in flight.
