@@crok8349 I agree, although N.O is valid and plenty of them are reverent and good (plus many areas still don't have Tridentine yet, but God willing I believe that will change, slowly but surely). For example I don't have TLM in my area, but the Parish I go to has a Polish Franciscan as its Parish Priest, and for the most part he's fine, he might tone down certain things but he definitely has the Faith and does speak of the things that matter most (I guess he's more JP2 style in his approach)

The final stanzas are essentially an acknowledgement that the Christian claim to the Holy land is the true and just claim, just as valid as the Arabs and Jews.

Yeah, I notice the fact that, unlike some of the people who like to imagine that all of this was about killing brown people, the writer of the song itself has very little interest in talking about fighting - he is motivated by his faith, and desires to walk the holy ground that God walked, and which he had heard so much about from Scripture.

Long time ago I used to play this Song with a friend of mine in Munich, Feldhernhalle at the Odeon Platz where we were professionally engaged.. That is not actually a turban, but an Orle. It was often worn as a decorative addition to helmets in europe as well with cloth died the colours of a knights crest. There was also a practical element as it was used as a buffer between the bascinet and the great helm (both were often worn together with bascinet underneath). It was more common during the 15th century so the image me not be 100% historically accurate. The lyrics in the description are not the version which is being sung. It is "daz reine lant", not "daz here lant". "rein" means pure/mere, "hehr" means noble/sublime; however I assume the exact meaning could have been different in Middle High German. There is also a variety of English translations it seems. I believe the last verse would me more correctly translated with: Just is, what He grants us.
