But Israel doesn't start up w the people of Gaza. Israel is the only army in the history of the world that is being held accountable for acts during a war. Egypt LOST the Sinai peninsula to Israel in that war, in which Egypt and the other Arab nations were all handily defeated, and Egypt had to ask for it back in the Camp David Accords in return for guaranteeing peace with Israel. A great job of explaining some of the history behind the conflict. In such a limited time it is implossible to go into the 'whys' of Israel's actions eg why they attacked Egyptian airfields in the six day war, the mass expulsions of Jews from Arab nations after the 1948 war etc. However as I say an very noble (and relaxing) attempt 👍

The only thing I would question, based on reading I have done, is the idea that Israel started the six day war. I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that Egypt technically kicked things off by closing the Suez canal/ strait of Tiran. If you block a countries trading and shipping route, that means you want a war.

Too say lebanon wasn't an arab country isn't neccessarily wrong but saying it was a christian country like that was it's identity is just bs and the maronite bias is shining through ten fold. Muslims were always the majority in lebanon no matter what time period you look at, they were just divided into shia and sunni, which is very clear from.the 1932 census. All you are doing is framing muslims as an outgroup that doesn't belong into lebanon so you can justify the horrid things the fascist militias did in the civil war which btw they started by trying to shoot at peaceful protests and when even the armies refused they got their phalange knock of black shirts to do it. Talking about christian government really reveals the route problem. The people you claim as native, which probably includes you, tried to take rights away from the population by breaking the treaties you established with the druze, the sunnis the shias and so on. It's quite telling all ethnic groups but the maronites were on the opposing side of them. I applaud you for calling for a ceasefire in your video and taking on the topic in this climate. However, I am disappointed by the consistent reference to the so called complexity of the situation. The situation is not complex, you demonstrated that with this video. An indigenous population is being expelled and has been expelled since white colonisers (e.g. Britain) decided that it was ok to displace this population to make up for the mistakes of anti semitism in the West. So I had originally written a comment, detailing the inaccuracy of this book, as well as the disingenuous framing and anti-Semitic lies. But then I looked it up, the French author of this book is actually a professor who has recently taken part in anti-Semitic protests, is on camera supporting antifa, it’s all in French but like… He’s heavily criticized for his geo-historical prospectives in academia, I can’t tell because my French is awful but I don’t think he’s very respected in French academic circles, which is why his books in English sell way better. There is a lot seriously wrong with a lot of the things that were said in this video, I have a classified it as misinformation. I’m aware that you might delete my comment as I have not seen any pro Israeli comments on this, but I hope you seriously reconsider the publishing of this video

If a published book sold around the world is incorrect then it needs to held accountable. I'm not sure of the "anti-Semitic lies" that you refer to. Are they dates or some other sort of factual information? I would not have chosen it if I had felt it was anti-Semitic, you see. Anti-Semitic means "hostile or prejudiced against Jewish people" which I am 100% against. I'm genuinely curious what you feel the author has done to be accused of this as I can't see it and I would like to know. Thanks for your reply in advance.

@@WelshASMR82Maps Hi mate, I can't speak for the original commenter about the anti-Semitism of the author, but I can say that this book does a pretty bad job of showing the history of the region. Not in a way that is downright untrue, but certain information in it seems very carefully crafted to turn people to one side of the conflict, by misrepresenting history without actually writing anything untrue. Here are a couple examples: The book refers to the land as Palestine during the time of the Kingdoms of Judea and Israel, when the word hadn't even been invented yet. It was first used after the destruction of Judea by Greek historians in reference only to a small part of the coast where a Greek people called the Philistines lived. The whole region was officially called "Syria Palaestina" by the Romans in the first or second century after they destroyed Jerusalem and killed half a million of the indigenous Jews. That was when the diaspora began, not in the 15th century as the book seems to claim. The book speaks of an ethnic group called Palestinians around 1948 when there is no evidence such a thing existed. Every piece of evidence whether it be some sort of letter or declaration that was written during that time and before refers to the inhabitants of the land as Arabs and Jews. The word Palestinians didn't exist until the 60s, so that actually is a factual inaccuracy. The book shows the first partition plan made by the UN, which gave the Jews more than half the land and was rejected by the Arab leaders, but it doesn't show the several others that were made after it, one which gave 55% of the land to the Arabs and was also rejected. It's also important to note that the areas prescribed to the Jewish population were desert and swamp. Uncultivated and full of malaria, as opposed to the proposed Arab state. Obviously small details like this won't always be in a world history book but there is a map from 1948 showing the spread of malaria in the region and how it perfectly matches the prescribed Jewish areas, and I thought u might find that interesting as a maps channel. There are several other cases I won't go into detail on, such as mentioning Zionist immigration to the land but leaving out the historical fact that more Arabs immigrated to the land than Jews in the early 20th century. It also mentions the UN condemnation of Israel occupying Gaza and the west bank, instead of giving the Palestinians a state, while brushing over the fact that Egypt and Jordan controlled those respective areas for 19 years and treated the land as their own. There are a couple more examples but this is getting long... This book isn't incorrect, but it seriously misrepresents history which I personally believe is done in an attempt to victimise one side and demonise the other. I very much appreciate the fact that as you say you are 100% against anti-Semitism, but this video has inspired a bit of it in the comment section. While I think most people who are saying this don't realise it, calling for a "free Palestine" is calling for a Palestine free of Jews (essentially saying that all 7 million Jews in Israel should be killed or removed), as it would be should the wishes of many people whose comments I've just read come true. I respect you trying to make an unbiased video on this topic, and your ASMR is the best out there, but I think this video does a pretty poor job of covering the history of this very turbulent region... You're Israeli, you're the text-book definition of biased. Yes the book leaves out a lot of nuance, because it's simply a series of maps, not a complete guide to the poltical situation. Also, not sure how the malaria situation is relevant when the partition plan was proposed by the UN and made by who lived who.
