Welcome to a very SPECIAL episode of Chopstick Travel. Today, we will be taking you inside the home of a Palestinian family for a full on ZARB meal in Bethlehem. Zarb is a roast chicken meal, made with spices like sumac, chili and za’atar. The chicken originally was baked underground in the dessert, by the Beduins, but this family re-created a modern version of the oven, and show us the process of how it’s done.
We also take you to eat some delicious Palestinian food all around Bethlehem, while checking out some of the main sites, like the Church of Nativity and Shepherd’s Fields. Who knew Bethlehem had so much to do! One of the top highlights was a visit to Sammie’s shop, for a secret concoction tea and to listen to his singing. There are areas where people are murdered for simply not being Muslim, for having the wrong sexuality, or from being from the wrong country. You're talking about lessening hate in an area where mass human right violations are committed on a regular basis because of food, you're just being ignorant of reality because you think it feels and sounds good. Palestine does not want to understand people, it wants to impose it's regime in the region under penalty of death. I was in tears watching this video and more so when listening to your comments at the end. My son spent several months in Palestine, some in Beit Sahour, working on a farm. We heard the real story of what's happening in the region. You're right, you cannot have any idea unless you go. @@jadecummings8093 Every country has their own names for it.. In Palestine they call it zarb. As he said in his video this is kinda modern way. The original way and this is almost in every country how they do it, they basically dig a hole in the ground with wood fire in it. The fire should die down and becomes charcoal and then they put the meat or chicken. The hole should be then covered and sealed to seal the heat inside it.
