JERUSALEM STREET FOOD tour at Mahane Yehuda Market
Jerusalem is a city full of some of the BEST STREET FOOD from all around the world. In this episode, we visit the MAHANE YEHUDA MARKET to go shopping and buy all kinds of food before all restaurants and markets close for Shabbat. We go on a mission for some insanely fresh street foods, local specialty dishes from Iraq, Georgia and more, fresh fruits, juices, breads and olives. We even score some DELICIOUS, freshly baked desserts. The market was AMAZING & bustling!

The chocolate croissants are to die for. I use to frequent a Jewish restaurant next to my job. I would get breakfast and the croissants daily until it closed. Sweet ppl. If I came alone others would invite me to eat with their group and try their food. They would even translate the conversation. Friendly ppl indeed🙂💙💙🙂

Jews not zionists!! Be careful with what you are saying. All those who live in Palestine are zionists, they are not to be trusted, because they don't live according the authentic jewish rules, therefore you should not be eating their food and accompany them

Besides Sam Mok how can you accept a stamp in your passport that says Israël. I could and will never do that. Palestinians are still being robbed, their olive trees are being burnt, their homes and land is being stolen by settelers. NEVER accept that as a human being, let alone if you are muslim! You should be ashamed of yourself and fear God

@@Bengiskahn Food is not acultural. By the same token, there is no such thing as 'Italian Cuisine' or 'Chinese Cuisine' either. They are both "just food". But sorting food into different cuisines is useful social convention and an easy shorthand for sorting food. In many ways, cultural identity has shaped much of the food traditionally eaten by certain peoples and communities. A lack of a diaspora does not indicate homogeneity in food. Many people groups who are geographically concentrated in their traditional homeland have an immense diversity within their cuisine. Japanese and Chinese cuisines are incredibly diverse, despite the lack of a significant diaspora prior to the 1800s.

Come to Israel, a small and diverse country where the bride drowned, streams, forests, waterfalls, talk fast and nature is very diverse. Beautiful and small cities of a small country, so in one day I will try to have 3 big cities in it. Street food Amazing food and gourmet restaurants. Amazing people, beautiful beaches. Modern hotels in Tel Aviv Boutique hotels in Jerusalem, History of museums in the markets, religion. And again about food in Anat Medina with amazing food (the most delicious in Tel Aviv (one of the best sushi and hamburger cities in the world) in Tel Aviv has it all) What is even more special about Israeli food is any type of food, French, Japanese, American, Israeli, Arab, Arab and more. Not to mention the weather can be pleasant and very warm and the atmosphere. I know I have already cooled it down but there are such nice and helpful people in Israel

Friday is not the day of rest for Jews. Shabbos starts on Friday night, and extends until Saturday evening. Consequently, the best time to visit Mahane Yehuda is late Friday morning or early afternoon when crowds are doing their last minute Shabbos shopping. The Shabbos bread is pronounced challah with a hard "ch." Pronounce it from the back of your throat. The breakfast you ate is not the traditional Israeli breakfast. I think it may be Iraqi, based on what you said. There are quite a few Israelis whose families fled Iraq. The traditional Israeli breakfast consists of bread, cheese, fish salads, vegetable salads, fruit salads, yogurts, pastry, and of course coffee. You should check out Ishtabach, a kosher Kurdish restaurant located next to Mahane Yehuda. They serve great meat pies.
