This is the best coop made out of pallets I've seen. How many chickens can cohabitate in one of these coops at a time? Did you find all of the pallets for free?

@@FullExposureStudiosStL why thank you full exposure! I made a bunch of these for my wife. They’re about 4’ x 2’ with a 1 foot nesting box in the back. She raises these bantam silkies so about 8 will fit in there comfortably. But for standard size layers would probably be OK for three or four. And yeah, the pallets were free. What’s great about the pallet is a lot of them have hard wood like oak. So the first one that I made four years ago is still looking like it’s brand new. We had bought one coop online, one of those junkie cheap ones from China. I think it fell apart after the first season ha ha ha.

Hi Kelly- I made this from plans in my head! Sorry. I just needed a simple structure so drew it up in my mind and went from there. I guess being an illustrator I’m used to visualizing things in detail.

Hey Alyssa- thanks for the question! Sooooo i probably deconstructed 7-10 pallets. The tool i used to pull the planks off of the pallets left some cracked or in otherwise, unuseable condition and i wanted these looking nice! Took a little work but was a fun project. I built many of these and we have 4 for our silkies. Theyre very sturdy.
