Received my new PA10 about a month ago but have only been able to get to the range once.. shoots great.. a good 1MOA gun once dialed in.. I’d highly recommend as a entry level AR10.

I have the 20” rifle length and absolutely love it. It’s heavy is the only con for mobility but I set it up for long range with a suppressor and it’s a sweet heart. Great review

Seen a lot of PA10 reviews and yours was the best presentation! I only own medium cartridge rifles and don’t hunt but looking for a larger one to just have one for multipurpose applications. I don’t make a lot of money and this is a great option

I have had one of these for over a year. I have no complaints, it is reasonably accurate and no problems. I think I got it on sale for under 700, it's a steal. It was a "blem", but I've never seen any blemish on it. I love the PSA "blem" stuff, it's always fine.

Thank you for another great review. Just placed my order for the PSA Gen 3 in 6.5 CM. Already have Aero M5 and Rock River AR10s in 308. Both are very accurate but also quite heavy for considering as hunting rigs.

I built my own about 5 years ago and it wasn’t that affordable. And it was a pain in the rear because back then the whole DPMS,ArmaLite,SR25 stuff wasn’t well known. So 5 years later and you can pick up a good running good accuracy 308/6.5 Large Frame AR system. I have to say I’m a bit jealous I should have waited. Oh well it is nice to be able to know my build like the back of my hand.

But to be able to pick up something like the PSA wasn’t a possibility back then. And it might have been a route I would have taken if it was available back then.

Seems PSA is really on top of their game the last few years. I'm new to all of this, since 2021, but I have been consistently seeing great things posted about PSA. At some point, I'll probably end up adding something from them to the collection. Just finished my PRS bolt action build. I think it turned out very nice! And just got my Platypus in yesterday. Going to get it to my range tomorrow evening and get my first video on it filmed!! Excited to show it off. Pictures on my community tab. Looks great I think!! Hope you have a great weekend!!

Last few years? They’ve been solid for over a decade but early on the snobs had a hard time accepting that they were getting raked over the coals by everyone else. Fortunately, people have been more receiving of PSA since Freedom Group decided to drive their brands into the dirt.

Definitely a hog hunter, even a deer hunter. My AR-10 is a different brand and what I did was put on Magpul PRS Gen III adjustable stock. Very comfortable and better at handling recoil than the stock carbine plastic plate. I could also see this rifle being DMR in a defensive situation. Por que, you might say? Sgt. Nicholas "The Reaper" Irving formerly of the 3rd Ranger Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment and sniper team leader for a number of deployments in the GWOT carried a Knight Arms SR-25 (the Army's Mk 11 Mod 0.) And he was effective to 600 yards or so. In fact, 33 confirmed kills in one particular deployment, more than any others at the time, hence the nickname "the Reaper." So, the AR-10 platform is valid for several uses.

On their site they list a number of 18" mid length, stainless steel barreled uppers. Which upper would you pick ? It appears hand guard is the major difference between what is listed? Barrel profiles are all the same in the stainless steel barrels? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Magpul has a stock that has a storage compartment that the Allen key would fit in and you can get a thicker recoil pad for the back of it it's the MOE rifle stock , I'm going to use it to store a military style cleaning rod incase I get a stuck cartridge in mine.

Regarding subsonic rounds with enough gas to cycle your action: I don't know if leverevolution powder is appropriate for subsonic, but it does provide much more gas at the port than other powders due to its very long pressure curve.

Want a stock with a nice pad, try Adaptive Tactical EX Performance Adjustable M4-Style Stock f/AR15/AR10. Optics Planet has sales on different colors throughout the year. No problem fitting an AR10, but I shave 3 inches off the top (lengthwise of course) from the front, and go low enough to give the charging handle clearance for an AR15. If you don't do this, the charging handle will be forced up because of its thickness, and will ruin the charging handle and upper receiver.

To me, PSA seems like it's a company started and run by shooters who want to provide the absolute best product for price that they can and still may the revenue they need. Given what I've seen so far, I believe they have achieved just that. I have a lower on the way to my ffl and an upper like that (18" stainless with the same handguard) on the way to me. They already got the buis and mags that I ordered to me... great company. Don't listen to your local dealer if they disparage them - they just don't like that they sell directly to the consumer and so the most the dealer will get is the transfer fee...

In general, 308 barrels last a very long time. The stainless steel of the PSA should be very good, but the nitrided barrel on the SFAR should last a good deal longer. Keep precision in mind, though. I'm not sure how tightly the sfar groups.

Heck yes. DPMS used to have the coolest chamberings, like .243 Win, .260 Rem, and 7mm-08. Those would be a ton of fun. This bipod is a UTG Over Bore. If you contact their customer service they might let you buy a handful of the attachment blocks for cheap.

Love your channel and reviews but can’t help but notice the promotions of PSA for budget friendly. I often price compare PSA to Bear Creek Arsenal and 9 out of 10 times BCA provides a much lower price when comparing Apples to Apples. BCA has a complete 20” .308 SS barrel AR10 for $530. All others reviews putting BCA head2head with PSA shows BCA shooting tighter groups. Why no love for BCA? Nothing against PSA but can’t help but feel PSA monetization is coming into play when there is a lower price and better performing option available.

To hit my intended point of impact at the center, I was holding over for drop and off for the wind from 300 to 500 meters. I can't remember the values, but it was enough that aiming at the target would have under-shot.

i have a psa gen3 pa10 and i have had more time repairing the gun than shooting it. burrs everywhere, even the charging handle needed filing. mags would fall out of the gun no matter how much you tightened the mag screw. no bolt hold open and i similarly had to outright replace the bolt paddle/detents etc. after. a few rounds i noticed the buffer was dented from the firing pin. because of their absolutely stupid proprietary lug spacing and buffer retainer pin placement you must use psa lowers with psa uppers so you absolutely will have problems if you try to get away with cheaping out and aero at 10 upper is literally only 100 dollars more i wish i paid for that instead of over 200+ dollars in repairs i spent on a brand new gun

The SFAR looks great, assuming they've fixed the initial gas issues. Just a few niggles that keep it from being an obvious slam dunk: the smaller bolt head with thinner walls, the thinner barrel extension, and the punishing recoil in the prone. But that's the trade-off for weight, so it makes sense. We'll all see how it performs in the long run; I expect it to be a really good hunting rifle.

get the 20" version for sure, recoil is nothing, put that thicker recoil pad he mentioned and its amazing shooter, that break does a fantastic job, 308 is an expensive round to have to do a 300 round breakin period, but once you do it the thing just runs.

I have the twenty inch version. Mine is a tack driver with my reloads. Upgraded to a Larue MBT straight bow trigger, Larue pistol grip, Magpul PRS lite stock, Trybe ambidextrous charging handle and LMT muzzle brake. Ran perfect from day one. I went with a Riton 4-32X56 scope in a Sig Sauer Alpha scope mount.

It depends on what I'm going to do in the field. If I have to carry the rifle a long distance for a low volume of fire, it sounds like the SFAR would be a great choice. If I'm expecting a firefight, like a a bunch of hogs or a defensive battle, I'd take the PA10.
