Palpatine BLOWS UP SENATE In Revenge Of The Sith Deleted Scene

Those of you who have been following me for a while will know that I am a sucker for Star Wars deleted scenes. Some are goofy and straight-up disturbing. Obi-Wan brutally executing Grievous by removing his brain and shooting it with a gun is just one example. But in my opinion, the Palpatine vs Yoda duel is an example of where the deleted scene version may in fact be better than the final product. During this scene, we see Palpatine raw power of force lightning on full display. Palpatine lets out a massive barage of lightning towards Yoda. Just like in the final cut, Yoda reflects this back at Palpatine. However in this version, the lightning deflects all over the senate floor, taking out several TV screens that are recording the duel. Yoda then uses one of the recording droids to conduct Palpatines lightning behind him right into the back of his head. Realising he is potentially outmatched, Palpatine flies off, blowing a large hole in the roof that causes large pieces of debris to fall down on Yoda’s head. Pretty Awesome. In Season 6 of the Clone Wars Yoda Know that Jedi have lost and Sidious as alright Won because he Sacrifice everything so Hope can exist after the rise of the empire' order 66 and the sake of the galaxy but thanks to his selfless act he would train the chosen one to balance to the galaxy and became a force ghost to help luke Show the Jedi That right way instead of going back to serve the Republic or a governement they would serve the people of the galaxy not the elite or the politicans that they serve for a Long rime ❤

What people don't understand is that Yoda never lost. And in this scenario Yoda wouldn't have won. It was his intention to kill Sidious and when he failed to do so he said "failed I have" as in "I have failed to kill him" and not actually lose. I've encountered so many people claiming that Sidious is stronger because Yoda "lost" but this fight ended in a draw as did the fight in this scenario

After Yoda fell to the bottom he could not jump back up again to face Sideous because clone troopers were on their way. Yoda did beat Sideous in season 6 of the clone wars. He simply lost his footing this time

Never understood how he lost the duel? It was more of a draw if nothing else. More importantly, if this was a fight to the death and there was no running away, Yoda can take care of sidious no problem.

it seems this was how Palps got disfigured in that cut, that might be just the replacement of the Windu scene. but having the only one that "could beat palps" die is an important thing for the story

The original plan was Palpatine was gonna switch between his two looks according to Ian. He was going to reapply the disguise after the duel with Mace. However Lucas liked the makeup so much he decided to use it for the rest of the film. If you look closely you can actually see the general Grievous Scene before the Windu fight Palpatine has his sith face (likely to conceal his identity as Grievous unlike Dooku was not aware that Palpatine and Sidious were the same person.

Two issues. First, this makes Palpatine way too powerful. Something Lucas understood that J.J. Abrams clearly did not. Second, it's important Yoda lose this fight completely, to justify his exile.

The Jedi would’ve lost either way. Because the Jedi, as shown in ‘Revenge of the Sith’ at the scene when Yoda fought with Sidious in the Senate Chambers, he still required his lightsaber, whereas Sidious used his immense powers. He didn’t want to fight using a lightsaber, despite being a master at it, but he defeated Yoda on so many fronts. Sidious was defeated Yoda in every way possible. He manipulated the Chosen One, he killed 4 of the best lightsaber duelists when the Empire had thousands and still couldn’t defeat the Jedi. He wiped the floor with the Jedi into thinking that HE wasn’t the Sith, but someone in his inner circle

I mean I doubt anyone was saying it relating to the war. BUT if you want to, due to Yoda and Kenobi surviving (Both sidious and vader failing to kill their respective rivals) Luke was able to be trained as a jedi and then turn his father. So Sidious lost.

They should have had mace return during yoda's duel in the senate , Mace coming in ripping all of palpatine's cronies apart including Mas Amedda . Filled with rage mace would come at palpatine disarming him while yoda ragdolls palpatine around. In this instance sidious would fear for his life and would likely flee like the sith always do . Ultimately in this scenario Anakin would still kill mace but he would travel fo mustafar with kenobi to confront anakin.

@Ted O'Neill Pretty much. After Yoda lost his lightsaber he pretty much lost his only chance at killing Palpy. One could argue he could've stayed and re-engaged Palpy, though pretty much at the expense of the future of the Jedi and his life. He realised this and knew he had to go into exile and live to fight another day vicariously through Luke.

Imagine in a slightly different ending padme gives birth earlier and welcomes 2 children with Anakin then while he's off world the Senate is blown up with padme dying and the twins assumed to be with her and the jedi are framed for it by palpatine

Well the last time General Grievous was captured, it was by Gungans and resulted in the death of Captain Tarpals. Grievous was then released in a prisoner swap for Anakin due to Padme's interference.😂

Him being a bitch and running away and blowing up the ceiling to do that, seems unnecessary but also at the same time, the way they kept it made it seem that yoda bitched out and ran, but really the reason was he discovered an urge in the force over Luke and Leia, well that is what we assumed anyway.

Palpatine wasn’t outmatched. Neither was Yoda. A true gaining/losing the advantage vs gaining/losing the advantage battle of the ultimate good vs the ultimate evil, in whatever variant is analyzed.

In a way I like this as it would have definitively shown that Yoda was the stronger of the two. It is clear and I think pretty much accepted that Yoda is the superior lightsaber duelist but a lot of people still think Palpatine is stronger in the Force. Here we see see pretty clearly Yodas command of the force is superior to Palpatines. Of course this is true in the scene we got also. Palpatine fires his full power force lightning at Yoda and its clear he is giving it everything he has and for a few seconds it looks like he has the upper hand but then Yoda takes control and reflects it back at him clearly causing him extreme pain much more pain than it was causing Yoda. The explosion is a get out of jail free card for Palpatine with Yoda falling to the bottom of the senate chamber and taking some damage on the way. I dont think Yoda lost I just hink this was Yodas 1 chance to kill Palpatine. After this he would never have gotten near him again, never had the element of surprise. This may have been what broke Yodas resolve and sent him into exile. Yoda was wise but he often made the wrong decisions. In many ways Qui Gon Jinn was much wiser than Yoda and saw things a lot more clearly despite being nowhere near as powerful.
