Even Hayden Christensen said Anakin was unfocused and that his strength comes from focus. Against Dooku he had focused anger,against Obi-Wan he was unfocused

True even when he is vader most of defeat are bc he lost focus or facing the part of anakin that are still on him his anger and power in darkside are stronger as shown against obi wan but he can be easily tricked and be beaten . So he lose . Thats why vader is almost unbeatable most of the time bc he calm and put only his faith on the force ( not the darkside only)

Huh, that's pretty interesting. I'd always assumed the Anakin that fought Obi-Wan was stronger than the one who defeated Dooku, but it actually kind of makes sense that the oposite is true since Anakin had been dead set of taking Dooku down for a very long time, getting payback for his lost arm and all. But naturally he'd feel very conflicted fighting Obi-Wan. I suppose it might be fairer to say that Anakin was more "Powerful" against Obi-Wan, but he just wasn't using that power particularly well due to his inner-turmoil.

Anakin was focused on himself and worse yet on self pity and childish rage at the unfairness of it. And don't get me wrong, we all need to take a moment from time to time to admire how the world screws us over, but that needs to be kept in its own time and space because it will ruin you otherwise.

It come down to a number of factors; 1 - Obi-Wan had trained Anakin and fought along side Anakin. 2 - Anakin was arrogant and couldn’t control his emotions. While Obi-Wan remained focused and grounded. 3 - Anakin/Vader couldn’t fully detach himself from Anakin. So when things got personal, they were deeply personal. So, Anakin wasn’t fighting some faceless random. He was fighting someone that he knew. As a result Anakin/Vader just lashed out, driven by an almost blind rage. 4 - the Jedi trained on a curved scale, so that fewer would progress too far or too below their peers. 5 - with Anakin, this was further complicated by the fact that as the Chosen One, he was far more naturally skilled than his peers and could feel that his potential was well beyond them as well. As a result this (& 4), Anakin never pushed himself to his limits, it was all too easy for him. Essentially further holding himself back from reaching his full potential. 6 - Lastly, he misunderstood the prophecy of the Chosen One and conflated Force potential, skill, physical strength and youth, with how powerful and skilled he actually was at the time and that as the CO, he was automatically unstoppable.

meh. prophecies aren't fact. For all the hype about being 'chosen to bring balance' he turned for the worst of reasons, killed innocents and just became a puppet confined to a suit. So big deal. He never balanced anything. Padme dies in the most cornball way, a broken heart. The same woman running around with her back cut open like it was nothing. Just some of the goofiest cliche stuff tossed in. Anakin being headstrong is one thing being stupid is another. "OH NOES, I KILLED MASTER WINDU. I will now serve you emperor because of a bad dream." @@slickchick5811 Come on man. It’s better than him just being the Star Wars version of the devil. All of the symbolism with Anakin crying, Mustafar, believing that being the most power means that he should rule over everything, falling into the lava, having his wings clipped by his “brother”, his transformation into monstrous inhuman machine bent on evil, was inspired by a painting by Alexandre Cabanel, ‘the Fallen Angel’. Without his very flawed human drama, there wouldn’t anything to sympathize with. But, too many now-a-days, have him on pedestal next to space Jesus. I guess do to this drama and him being of a virgin birth, the Chosen One who restored Balance to the Force,.. and saved the galaxy (after first destroying any semblance to balance and brought destruction and tyranny to the galaxy.

Anakin lacked Conviction on Mustafar, this is what it all boils down to.. which in a way makes his lesson of conviction to Ashoka even deeper. Obi-wan is so underrated, yeah his determination helped him win but more importantly, he IS the master of Soresu, that is his feat, he stalled Anakin perfectly till he got his opening which is exactly what Soresu is. He remained calm and composed because he's a Jedi, whereas Sith base their power off anger. Obi-wan won that fair and square. I hate the excuse "he knows all of Anakin's moves". While that's true, Anakin knows all his moves too, he grew up with Obi-wan, his master taught him everything he knows. Furthermore, why does nobody talk abt the fact that Obi-wan beat him again during the Obi-Wan series, left him on the brink off death AGAIN. This was many years after Mustafar, this was after Anakin was able to learn to use the darkside and after he hunted all those Jedi across the galaxy. That fight might be an even greater feat than the Mustafar fight.

I think you exemplified why the duel between Vader and Obi wan in the series doesn’t make a lick of sense. The show was a nostalgia money grab, I don’t see how Kenobi could come close to beating Vader at that point. The first duel on Mustafar makes perfect sense between confliction, arrogance, and Obi WANs mastery of from 3, it makes sense for him to win. Disney doesn’t even attempt to show any reason why. Vader was more powerful, a better duelist at this point and had started mastering his emotions and the darkside for 10 years. Kenobi hasn’t trained or even used the force in a decade and over a few days magically regains this? Because he THOUGHT of Luke and Leia? On top of it all wasn’t even using form 3 for the second half of the duel, the only from he truly mastered. I just don’t see how it makes sense, when someone is more powerful in Star Wars and they lose, there has always been a reason. Unless Disney is now saying Kenobi is more powerful.
@ishaanpoddar7654
@ishaanpoddar7654 8 ай бұрын
The reason Kenobi was able to win the duel in the Obi-Wan series is because Vader got cocky and thought he killed Kenobi when he tried to bury Kenobi alive. In that moment of desperation, Kenobi got his determination back which was his winning trait in Mustafar. After that, he switched up from pure Form 3 to a more aggressive style because he figured out the only weakness Vader had, his cybernetic body. Vader's cybernetic body severely limited his physical agility and movement, caused him immense pain and was basically life support for Vader. added to that, Kenobi's style in the 2nd part of their re-duel was surprisingly aggresive for him which allowed him to get a couple of hits on his armour with the rocks and then his lightber. This damaged Vader's cybernetic armour to the point that Kenobi managed to gain a clear advantage. Also you're forgetting that even though Vader was more powerful in the force than Kenobi, he was not as powerful as he could have been due to the loss of midichlorians after the duel of in Mustafar. he lost a lot of his human body significantly limiting the max potential of power in the force. @@ENEMYAC130AB0VE

@@ishaanpoddar7654 First off, it makes no sense for Vader not to have killed Kenobi from that, he threw a bunch of boulders at him and he somehow emerged without any injury lol. But that doesn’t bother me, what does is that Vader would’ve have felt Kenobi die within the force, they had a deep connection, so your telling me he didn’t know Kenobi was still alive? Also, your right, Kenobi’s determination was a huge reason he won on Mustafar. But that still doesn’t answer how he became more powerful than he’s ever been in about 10 seconds after being pummeled by rocks. He hasn’t trained or used the force in a decade and is now pulling off these feats against someone much stronger? I love Kenobi, but like c’mon, no matter how determined that shit makes no sense. And like I said, Vader was a better duelist on Mustafar and became even better in the suit, so for Kenobi to outduel him with a form he hasn’t mastered or used in at least a decade of not using his saber is nonsense. Disney basically says, “Yeah so Vader loses because of his emotions again” how original is that? Obi Wan is a GOAT and this show was a disservice to him.

Probably had a few ideas towards how he could achieve it. Either way, he had one goal: Prevent further destruction of Anakin while there's still something. He has no interest in Darth Vader. Screw him. His priority was Anakin Skywalker. His friend would answer for what he had done. When Darth Vader slowly tells Kenobi "You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker... _I_ did..." Kenobi instantly realizes that Anakin had been gone a long time ago. At the end of that duel we see Kenobi say, almost to himself "Then my friend is truly dead." This is something Sidious should have foreseen. Especially with knowing how much Padme meant to Anakin. .... Think about it. He already had everything in that moment. Vader was his strong hand for the future. ... Risking him in a fight with his former master & brother in arms was just as arrogant as Anakin was in the duel. ... There was no turning back for Vader after slaughtering the younglings. ... And fairly sure Padme was dieing either way. In short, Sidious failed with his decision more than Vader did with losing. ... Can't say that Sidious didn't know how big of a transition it was or that he didn't intimately know Anakin's fragile mindstate. And yes, if Sidious made the correct decision and told Vader to not face Kenobi there's no way Vader would have lost to him. Heck, odds are that he never would have faced him period. Vader would have reached his full potential & wouldn't have been so singularly focused on Kenobi like he ultimately was. The Empire would've been unstoppable.

I agree I thought that logically Anakin was stronger when he fought doku. As even though he briefly tap into the power of the dark side at the end of the duel, he still remains on the light side of the force even refusing to kill doku at first. He was simply better at using the light side of the force as he had been training with it his whole life. On Mustafa, Anakin was conflicted and in a state of mental wreck he crying about killing younglings, agrueing with Padme and he was not even fully committed to killing his own master. His appearance rage in the duel was more of him venting his frustration at the event that happens. Anakin got obiwan by the throat at one point during the duel and didn’t crush Obiwan neck with his Mechanical arm, choosing to slowly try make obiwan submit. He was clearly conflicted about killing his master as he was some crying when he was talking to Obiwan on lava river. Anakin could have been turn back to the light side by Obiwan if he had tried harder to convince him and even Obiwan realize this later on. Vader always had too much good in him making weaker in the dark side.

1) I don't think that Anakin was trying to kill Kenobi but disarm him (literally). Therefore, he lost much for the same reason that Dooku lost to him: Dooku was commanded by Palpatine not to kill Anakin but help turn him, so he couldn't fight to kill to defeat Anakin, thus limiting him of some potential killing blows and giving Anakin an advantage. Likewise, Anakin wanting to disarm not kill Kenobi limited him of some of his most lethal tactics and moves -- moves which he had used against all of his opponents in the Clone Wars. 2) Kenobi (and this is the main reason) tricked Anakin into trying a move (the jump) in the course of which Kenobi knew how he could defeat an opponent (since Kenobi had done the same move before). He wanted Anakin to do the jump, thereby leaving him momentarily defenseless, and so goaded him into trying it by presenting it as an impossible challenge, and he knew that Anakin (from childhood) could never turn down a challenge.

He lost because of one reason. The only reason why Akakin went for dueling Obi-Wan begin with was he saw his failures as a Jedi and a Husband was Obi-Wan's fault. It's what Akakin said in Episode II to Padme after his mom died. After losing his mom, then having problems in his marriage with Padme and seeing Obi-Wan went to Mustafar to take her away from him. He then saw he nothing left to lose. He could had stopped himself when Obi-Wan told him "don't try it! I have the high ground" but Akakin had only one thing on his mind. In his intention to end Vader right then and there I mean my goodness now, when I really think about it, he was the epitome of what a Jedi truly should have been like honestly I think now looking at that fight alone, that is what every Jedi should aspire to be he arrived with a simple, single focused intent on stopping evil right then and there utilizing what could honestly be the best form for a Jedi to master mix to vapad. And with that said, in my humble, honest opinion, I think if a Jedi could master both style three and the pad, they would be purely unstoppable, and can consider themselves a true weapon of the force, and not necessarily a weapon, but a bean who is used by the force.

@@2Times22 Uh no. What made Anakin a force to reckon was his raw power and high aptitude for the Force. ObiWan is far and away light years ahead of Anakin when it comes to saber skills. ObiWan is considered one of the best duelists among the present generation of Jedi, with the exception of Yoda. And for a good reason, because what ObiWan lacked in raw power with low aptitude for the Force, he more than made up for it with sheer light saber skills. He has no equal when it comes to his personal lightsaber Form III, also known as Soresu form. It's the reason why despite Anakin's raw power, he wasn't able to overpower ObiWan instantly in their duel on Mustafa. Soresu's defensive nature leaves no wasted energy, and no openings, which meant that in a war of attrition, Anakin was losing because despite his raw power, he was losing stamina and ultimately what led to him losing the duel. That famous line "I have the higher ground Anakin" isn't just a meme, it has significance. ObiWan knew that Anakin was fatigued and wouldn't make the jump successfully. ObiWan's saber skills far outclasses Anakin's.

For me, I think it would have mattered a little more what all happened in those few days. Not to beat a dead horse, buy I really feel that Vader suffered against an almost purely defensive Kenobi, but it was more than just Soresu; Obi-Wan was defended in his goals, his intent, and his emotions. Despite being "weaker", which I'd still argue, he also knew he only needed one strike; he was that good on the offensive, too,and he could, for the most part, afford to wait for it. Everything, though, was riding on it, for Vader. He had toppled the Jedi, and there was now no going back. If Padme had still shown up with Kenobi, he'd still have the worries about her, and the baby, on his mind; another thing to lose. If he failed, he wouldn't live up to the Chosen One; Sidious might even cast him aside, or kill him. He could have meditated; honed his dark talent, but I still think enough doubt, and worries of proving himself less than he thought he was; less than he needed to be, would have overcome his skill, and given Kenobi the victory, until Kenobi failed at the end, and let the Force decide. And that's what eventually brought the Emperor down, so I'm not saying it was wrong, but it did open the door to a lot of suffering, even if Vader did eventually kill Palpatine...for a time.

At least a logical reason Anakin lost. Anakin was at least Obiwan’s equal at this point shown by the fact Dooku had defeated Obiwan twice while Anakin appears to be holding his own before giving in to his anger. On a side note did Anakin really betray Mace? Would it be considered a betrayal if a cop was going to execute a perpetrator and his partner shot him in the leg or hand to prevent this from happening? That is essentially what happened Anakin even protesting that it wasn’t the Jedi way and that he must stand trial. Skywalker didn’t “ go for the head” just disarmed or in this case dehanded him. Everything after this point doesn’t matter this was when the die was cast. That said Windu was right Palpatine was too dangerous to live.

The answer to your question on whether darth Vader would have won if he had a few more days of training is no. The evidence for this is in the duel between Vader and Kenobi in the Disney series, Kenobi. It was evident in that duel that Vader remained conflicted based on Darth Sidius assessment of that dual. This permitted Kenobi, who seemingly was out practice for 10 years, to defeat Vader again. As you noted, the dual on Mustafar showed Kenobi's focus and determination as a jedi. I believe that even if Anikan had a few days to train with the dark side of the force following order 66, he would have remained conflicted because of the fact that he continued to be conflicted years later. Or, at least, he was conflicted when he met up again with Kenobi. His inner conflict, once again, gave Kenobi the advantage. Do others agree? Thanks for the video. Great analysis!

However once the deed was done and the adrenaline wore off Anakin had to think about all of the horrible things he had done. He even started to cry. After that he saw Padame whom he loved so he was no longer in a state of pure darkness. He was highly conflicted.
