This is so cool. I love everything about it……the view, being on the rails, How fast can these speeders go? I know it’s not about speed but just curious. Wondering if there are any speeder excursions in central Illinois.

The top speed varies with the unit but we adhere to safety standards and rules, both imposed by the parent organization and by the railroads we operate over. Most will only see a top speed of 25 mph and we generally average not much more than 10-15 MPH when you factor in stops for highway crossings, breakdowns, lunch, etc. As for excursions nearby, check out North American Rail Car Operators Association for more information.
