Just picked up a 3DO FZ-10 model yesterday to add my gaming collection. It cost me 145 buck and it was at my local game shop that I visit ever other week for treasure. I bought the only game they had which was shockwave and I can’t wait to buy all the titles you mentioned to build my collection. Awesome video!!

I have a 3do and it’s a underrated console. I have a FZ-1 that has trouble reading discs and that FZ-10 model.

3do is the best game system ever made and Trip Hawkins is a genius.So YES.When this thing came out there was simply nothing like it.It was absolutely amazing and still is.

Great video. As far as modding a system goes, the fz1 varient of the 3do had much more possibilities than the fz 10. The usb host for the fz1 was plug and play while the fz10 required extensive soldering. Also the 240p/ rgb mod for some fz10 models couldn't be used at all. The madam/clio can be modded, the anvil chipset can't. I still love my 3do, as an early adopter, it is still one of my favorite systems.

Great video! Tomorrow I will get my first ever 3DO FZ 10. I am actually really excited to have this new console in my collection. I never knew how awesome it is. I always thought it is an uninteresting failed console. But I also bought my first Jaguar this year and also thought it is trash. It is great to experience retro consoles for the first time. Last year I did it with the Neo Geo and PC Engine. Tomorrow it will be the 3DO experience. By the way I paid 165€ for the FZ 10. It was the cheapest I could find in my area. I will get it with Street Fighter, Return Fire, Slam Jam and one controller.

I am leaning towards the FZ-1, just because the Japanese model has the 240p switch.

If someone is willing to spend 400$ plus on a 3DO, they should get the Japanese FZ-1. North American 3DOS processes the 240p image as 480i, the Japanese FZ-1 has a switch where the channel select is, that enables native 240p output.

I got a 3DO for Return fire that was showcased briefly from the movie, in the army now with Paula Shore. Missed out on the first PlayStation bc of it. 🤦🏻‍♂️. Then the M2 Was suppose to come out and blow everything away. That never happened lol

I got a Panasonic 3DO FZ-1 in ‘95 after it was severely discounted and it still works! I remember magazines mentioning the upcoming M2; I believe there were a few Konami arcade games that actually ended up using that tech.

@@arioca - The drive belt on my FZ-1 wore out and then after I fixed that, the laser died...so I got the FZ-10 model, it's the best model IMO. 100% less hassle...

@@JohnnyProctor9 Yeah, if I had to get a 3DO now I'd definitely choose the FZ-10 model due to less moving parts and newer laser lens, although I prefer the unique look of the FZ-1.

@@arioca - Also not having the memory manager software built in, I keep on forgetting about that headache...I lost the memory manager disc in a move, but it wasn't an issue since I have the Game Guru.

It is weird as much modding you show off in this video that you do not mention that the 3DO can run cdr burned game backups without any modding. Tis could be important info if soeone is considering those high game prices.
