Very useful zoom on the 20-60 and you will have the opportunity to buy the 50mm discounted or 2nd hand when the hype dies down.

i don't know if im really impressed with the lens - bokeh doesn't look exactly creamy in my opinion. why is the canon rf nifty fifty so much cheaper and lighter? the ef nifty fifty costs 100 dollars... and the Zeiss 55mm 1.8 gives more pop to the image. would a sigma art 50mm 1.4 be much heavier?

Other than obscene profit taking, I'm not sure why mirrorless lenses are so much more expensive than their previous AF counterparts, i.e. Nikon 50mm f/1.8 AF-S $217 vs. Nikon Z 50mm f/1.8 $597

Question not related to lens but to S1. When I'm using HSS flash, it create bright line at the bottom on images, like shutter is not fast enough. Do you know how to fix that? (flash is godox 685 with ttl)

@@hajmanek As I mention in HSS (high speed sync) it is not working by some reason. I used HSS before on another camera model and it worked fine. Not sure if it is settings or firmware bug or something. I need shutter >250 and while on the other camera it worked I;m trying figure out what's wrong. (with non-HSS it's working good)

Other 50mm is not "extremely expensive" compared to others, take a look on many modern lens, there are plenty of the same range pricing. That's insane, but anyway.

I have the 20-60 kit lens which has been fantastic so far and to be honest I feel like it would be almost worthless adding this prime lens to my gear. I just wish their vario pro series were cheaper :)

Depends on what you shoot. I do lots of documentary interviews and the 3.5-5.6 aperture of the kit lens can't compete with this 50mm 1.8 for the look I want to achieve.

I'm shooting real estate for a guy who likes to add a few close-up shallow-depth-of-field shots for each house with a 50mm lens. He wants me to emulate his style. I tried taking off my wide angle and using the kit lens, but at 50mm the widest aperture is f5.4 and that affects the DOF. Since I will be shooting for him a lot, it is not worthless for me.

Wrong. Just wrong. LOL. 50mm lenses nearly ALWAYS had GREAT image quality. SMH. Wow. They're inexpensive to produce (compared to other focal lengths, particularly wides) but also companies didn't want to give you a crap lens when you bought a body "back in the day". They gave you a GREAT 50mm f1.8 prime "kit lens", sometimes at a loss (or so rumor has it), so you'd buy other lenses in their lineup. This seems to perform as well as all the other offerings from Nikon, Canon, Sony, Sigma, Tokina -- what have you. So sorry, bailed on you about 30 seconds in. SMH^2. Gotta love the interwebs.
