Panasonic Lumix G80 / G85 in 2023 - STILL the best bang for the buck.

The g80 is a fantastic camera . Picked one up with the 12-60mm kit lens and only 900 shutter count for £380 . Thats a steal .

You're correct in every way. If camera manufacturers haven't got us chasing new technology with "new this," "new that," I don't see how units released this year perform any better than this seven-year-old piece. Pair this with some higher-end glass, and you couldn't tell the video from this camera and one from the GH6 apart. The G85/G80/G81 will still punch high until 4K is no longer a thing!

Thanks. I usually shoot in Cinelike-D and then tweak the footage in FCP - minor adjustments like increasing the saturation slightly, straightening horizons, that sort of thing. Footage is very good straight out of camera, so changes are usually minimal.

As long as you have a fast lens, like the 20mm f1.7 or the 42.5mm f1.7. The high ISO performance isn't great so you really need some fast glass for low light shooting.

Thank you for the video. Do you think I could use a Sigma Art 24 - 70 F2.8 lens with this Lumix, or do I need an adapter?

The Sigma 24-70 is only available for Sony E mount and Leica/Panasonic L mount, not for Micro Four Thirds and it’s not possible to make an adapter because of the flange distance.
