I was there! This was recorded at the Ali Akbar college of Music at the Theological Seminary in San Anselmo, California near San Franscisco in about 1977. Zakir Hussain on tabla. The building is a big European castle which hige rooms where classes and concerts were heeld. Nikhilda took the syle of Ud Amir Ks fo this khyal syle bandish.

It will be foolish to even try to describe this beautiful rendition. However, it's worth mentioning that the tabla accompaniment is so sensitive that it really does compete with the sweetness of Nikhil Banerjee's sitar. And that is saying something.
