I suppose if you really didn't trust anyone to pay for their fuel, you could install rising bollards that block the vehicle from leaving the pump, or only allow pre-pay.

£22,000 a month from that illegal petrol station! Do they pay tax on this money? No! You can bet those 'profits' are going into the pockets of criminals, not the local community.

Drive offs? Is the UK stupid? Why not make fuel purchases pre-pay only????

Yes, they could easily adapt the petrol pumps to make them pre-pay, instead we get meek messages asking motorists to please pay before they pump.

I see petrol thefts at work all the time and it's not fair on honest drivers who pay. In my opinion, most of these thefts are linked to other forms of crime. All petrol stations should be card only!
