"It is not our abilities that show who we truly are. It is our choices." -Albus Dumbledore Crosshair was without a doubt the best part of season 3. What they did with him is nothing less than fantastic character development. Who he was when he first showed up in Clone Wars vs who he is at the end of Bad Batch is that perfect mix of recognizable yet different. He's still not a warm presence, but he's no longer the guy who would've left Echo for dead at the Citadel. His relationship with Omega was also fantastic. She's the hopeful (sometimes naive) idealist and he's the pessimistic realist. But she never gave up on him, even when he had given up on himself. Like being a guinea pig for the Empire was his karma for all the evil deeds he's done. And giving him that twitch was genius. It was as much to take his ego down a few notches ("We're not like the regs. We're superior.") as it was to show that Hemlock's experiments were so barbaric that they scarred even someone like Crosshair on a very deep level. For once in his life, Crosshair doubted himself. He doubted his abilities. He doubted he was good enough despite being the best sniper in the Clone Army. And y'know what? That made him human.

Now that I’ve just seen this it really makes me think how crosshair has gotten this far, both with his brothers and the Empire and what he really has become when he betrayed his brothers before and then months later the Empire after they betrayed him and so despite how discouraged he was he really does make up for what he had done in the past and basically became a hero *I actually had tears from this, the editing was awesome*

Not to mention as well that he had also matured because before, he never liked, or gave a crap about the regs and would leave them behind “no point in carrying dead weight”, but then a spark in him lit and he cared about Mayday and refused to leave him behind

8:15 this is one of the most beautiful frames I’ve ever seen in all of Star Wars. I love that Omega taught Crosshair to meditate in order to help with the psychological damage he had suffered, being at one with your mind is so good for you.

Excellent edit! I only wish you included the scene with Wrecker and Tech at Kamino: “All that time and you didn’t even TRY to come back! We still would’ve taken ya.” “Let it go Wrecker. I’m one of the fans that like the idea of the inhibitor chips, but Crosshair is THE best example for why it wasn’t necessary to begin with. The complexity of his character is probably a reflection of all the clones that would’ve followed Order 66 without the inhibitor chips.

He trusts her now, because she believed in him. Because she didn’t give up or leave him behind, like he thought the others did. And that trust, that bond between them… 8:40 - …gave him the strength to take the shot. 9:02 - Not gonna lie, I started getting teary-eyed here. Lovely timing with the hug and the music. you really did a good job. For me Crosshair is a character who had one of the best developments in Star Wars, very well represented in this video in fact 😉. He is at the beginning the good soldier who follows orders without ever discussing them in the first season, then he doubts in season 2 of his role in the empire until understanding what he really represents for them thanks to the words of Cody, Mayday and Lieutenant Nolan. Finally in season 3 returning to his former brothers and redeeming his mistakes.

Great video. Crosshair’s definitely one of the best and most dynamic characters Star Wars has made in a long time. One slight missed opportunity I think you had with this video was highlighting the contrast between his earliest interactions with Omega and his final shot to free her from Hemlock. He started out with lines like “aim for the kid” in Reunion and “letting a kid call the shots? Bad move” in Kamino Lost, and by the end, he was fully trusting her to call his shot that he was worried about making because he could have accidentally shot her.
