The Abbott brothers were, despite their hard-partying ways, absolute professionals when it came to their music and performance. Never a bad set from either them, regardless of how crazy things got with the band.

huge metal fan who somehow really never got into Pantera and thats what strikes me about his live songs and the writing of the solos. He can be extremely rhythmic or just solo, either way its really clean.

Of all the bands I’ve seen live, these guys were the most fun to watch. Pantera was great showmanship. I don’t know exactly what differentiated them from other bands but there was something there that was extra special. Watching Dimebag live was eye and ear candy. He just looked cooler than everyone it wasn’t just his awesome skills.

i saw Vinnie Paul when Hellyeah was playing a festival in Australia back in 2011 i think it was. He was on beat 100% then and he always was a beast on drums wherever and with whoever he played. RIP The Abbot Bothers and Pantera. I will be listening to your music for the rest of my life.

@@MADguitar bernth is incredible. Bernth is not dime though. Dime made his guitar sing in a way that almost no metal guitarists do, it’s the blues influence in his style. Dime couldn’t play a lot of the shit that Bernth plays, but I would pick Dimes songwriting and feel 100 times out of 100 over players like Bernth any day. Just because you can play fast or do sweeps better than most doesn’t mean you can write songs that people will listen to 40-50-60 years from now. There, fixed.

No, this one is at the Metropolis. Pantera played twice at the Spectrum (1992, with White Zombie opening, and 1993, with Sacred Reich opening)
