You still won’t get to see Pantera live
@JohnSmith-gi7jw2 жыл бұрын
@@Liberty_76 I remember in 1987 when Skynyrd first got back together with the new members. It took them a few years before they got it right, but after that they were rockin like the original band. ACDC did it too. Sure would love to go back to the 70's and see the original Lynyrd Skynyrd live though.
@Liberty_762 жыл бұрын
@@JohnSmith-gi7jw I’d love to have seen the original Skynyrd as well but those examples you listed are kinda Apples and Oranges when it comes to Pantera though. Dime and Vinnie WERE Pantera they were the heart and soul of the band and the main songwriters. I hope, as a CFH fan that these guys take this seriously... they are giants of the metal scene. We live in a society that has disappointed time and time again. Movies, music, etc.... I hope these guys produce the best they can. The metal scene has stood on their shoulders for years, I hope this is a chance for the Pantera flag to raise and pay sincere tribute to the greatest most influential band since, for me anyway, black sabbath. Getcha pull Phil, Rex, Zakk and Charlie

Dime and Vinnie are the best in my eyes hands down . The past sucks I always wished something could of happend with Vinnie ,rex, and phil after dimes passing just to keep the music going even if it was just once , like a tribute for dime . I wish there wasn't so much bad blood between the abbot brothers and phil . Im so glad everyone involved made this happen not just the band but dime and Vinnie's family I know they had to have alot to do with this and im sure the back bone of this was Zakk and rex communicating with the families. I cant wait to see their 1st performance . Dime is irreplaceable but if someone is going to do it.... I'm sure as hell that its Zakk! I think that would have been the only person I would of been ok with . Thank you Zakk . And thank you to the person who made this video so we can all kind of hear what we are in for lol cant wait . Good luck to everyone involved , i hope this fills the whole in every pantera fans heart we all have been waiting for so long for this !

All the haters need to gain some perspective. Live it's not about sounding exactly like Dime note for note. That's the KZbin, sitting alone in your bedroom (troll) experience. It's about THE SONGS of Pantera. Getting together with a group of friends, getting loaded and enjoying the songs one of the greatest bands ever. When you're in the crowd going nuts, live Pantera blaring from the speaker stacks, you gonna look at someone and say "Hey, I think he just missed a note" Well I think you missed the point. This is not well rehearsed, by 2023 I'm sure Zakk and Charlie will have it dialed in. If not you can just stay home.

It's amazing how Dime and Zakk both rip the hell out of the same pentatonic scale and blues scales, yet when Dimebag plays the same notes, it just sounds less predictable.
@mikeg66662 жыл бұрын
Zakk has a tendency to over do it though , he gets to pentatonic sometimes. Plus he's gonna need to tighten up on his playing if he's going to be playing Dime's material....
@dowens37812 жыл бұрын
They both play more than just pentatonic and blues scales, dude - Dime was known for using symmetrical patterns (a la his hero EVH) and Zakk plays a lot Randy Rhoads style minor scales.
@marcrg5292 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they two were very good friends and Zakk is probably the best candidate to play for that reason. Buuuuut their soloing styles can't be more opposed😅😂 Zakk plays bluesy solos always inside the modes of the natural minor or harmonic scales and dimebag just plays super dissonant stuff, but somehow he makes it sound amazing with the whammy bar, the squeals and pedals. Dimebag is so damn unique, he is probably the only guitarist that plays his own solos better than anyone. For example, you can love Yngwie or John Petrucci, but in youtube you will find people with the same talent to play their solos, but not for Dime. He had a 6th sense nobody else has.

If both Zakk and Charlie work with both the guitar and drum techs that worked with the Abbotts to dial in the closest tone on their instruments it would be awesome. They possess the skills to play the parts, the tone is where is at. I’m definitely interested in attending this homage tour once the dates are planned out. Half of Pantera is better than no Pantera at all.
