20:55 I've had really good success cleaning pedals and stubborn dirt on the plastic door sill trim with a cheap Oral-B electric toothbrush. You can get some pretty cheap ones now (mine was $10 I think). The rotating+pulsating head really helps loosen dirt and saves my wrists which can hurt with a lot of scrubbing.

Pan, I’ve been watching all of your videos for quite some time now. Mostly binge watching since I’m trying to learn all I can after experiencing a bad drive-thru machine wash. I would love to see a video that would focus on a typical homeowner’s setup for “organizing” all of their supplies. This would include wall mount racks, shelving, cabinets, drawers, etc. that focus on a DIYer vs. a professional, something affordable for most DIYers, ya know. Also, I’d love to see videos that maybe talk about timelines of when to do what type of cleaning on a vehicle (e.g. every three months spray X and every two weeks wipe down this). Again, with focus on a typical DIYer. And, finally, perhaps a series on using one brand of product vs buying all sorts of brands. There’s just so much out there that it gets very confusing to know when to use any specific product and such. Thanks for all the info and demos in your videos. They’re great and have been very helpful.

Living in a rural area, I went outside yesterday to detail my truck and started with floor Mats which are rubber. Then I blew out with tornador and vacuumed the interior. It was bad so it took a while. Then as I went to start the door panels I realized I’d have to get in the truck again to clean the center console and dash. My feet were so dirty from walking around that I introduced so much dirt back into a just vacuumed floor.. really hurt my confidence to realize I can’t start there. But lesson learned for me it’s gunna be vacuum last in most cases

I feel u bro, I was cleaning my fathers landscaping truck, and I had all the beginner stuff at the time, and it was very hard to clean, it actually took me 2 days to clean the interior and exterior, it came out pretty well ngl, it wasn’t lookin like it just came outta the lot, and I bought good expensive stuff too, but at the end of the day, that was the first car/truck I’ve ever cleaned, it came out good for the most part, but I did his pick up truck, and it actually came out perfect, had the exterior and interior shining, his landscaping dump truck, just had like oils stains on the dash, the whole truck just had, oil and a lot of dirt stains, he didn’t have carpet either, he has rubber floor cause it’s a work truck, I think I just needed more scrubbers, I had a pressure washer, steamer, basically everything u needed, or almost everything, I think I just needed more scrubbers, idk at the end of the day, when I did his pick up truck, and my car, it came out amazing

One change I've made in the last year to my interior routine that I really like - I've dropped using a towel for hard surfaces in lieu of pads. I use a scrubbing pad (the Griots Garage Microfiber Cleaning Pad) to do the initial clean followed by a Microfiber Applicator Pad for a final buff. When doing softer surfaces like piano black or screens, I skip the scrub pad and just use the applicator pad. I just think it's a much more pleasurable experience because I hate how towels like to crumple up on you...

Pan I watch many of your videos. I've done the exterior on my brand new 2023 Mazda CX-5 Turbo Machine Grey based on your videos. I first did a pre-wash spray with McKees rinseless from a Marolex Pressure sprayer, followed with a rinse from my Karcher 1700 pressure washer, followed by a mechanical wash from a MJJC foam canon, rinsed, dried, and then sprayed the car with Gyeon Iron remover & let it dwell, rinsed, then did a light claybar with Gyeon as well, rinsed and dried the car with Gauntlet towels, and a small Blo electric dryer to get the water out of all the nooks & cracks. Then finally applied the Gyeon Q2 Pure ceramic coating. The car looks great and now after 2 weeks of curing I'll pre-wash it again, shampoo it, mechanically clean it, dry it as I've previously done and then finish it off with some Malco Epic CR2 ceramic spray and it should look awsome...all thanks to you and your great, informative and rightfully cautionary videos. So with that said I waited on this video to see what you had to recommend for all the soft touch material in my CX-5, especially the top of the dash which has different soft material for the most part than the doors, things seem to stick to dash material in the sense that it's harder to simply brush debris off of it. It seems slightly tacky but I'm pretty certain that's just the nature of the material. So Pan, after all this, any suggestions for the dash? I know your brother has a CX-5 as well so I'm fairly certain you're just the perfect products for me. Hope to hear from you, be well and keep doing this great work.

Hi again pan! Not sure if you answered this before in other videos, but how long does it typically take for you to do an interior detail on your own?
@PanTheOrganizer5 ай бұрын
That's nearly impossible to answer as it depends on the state of the interior, how big or small the car is, type of surfaces, amount of work needed, etc. Too many variables. If you're steam cleaning, using an extractor, have any fabric stains to remove, leather to be cleaned and rejuvenated, smoker's interior needing odour removal, etc. But if you're asking for an always clean, well maintained interior like mine, I can do a quick refresh in 30 min. Some interiors can take hours.

Hello, first time commenting, long time admiring. I thought I knew how to clean a car until I found your channel. I cleaned my door jambs for the first time in 10+ years of owning my car. Needless to say they were super dirty. Two questions here: 1. How do you get the hard black caked crud from what I am guessing is the door seals off the metal frames other than scraping them off with your nail? I used a pressure washer to rinse and wash the jambs, how do you keep the inside from getting wet? Yes I washed the whole portal, not just the lower half.

When it comes to head liners I usually go for the foaming pump bottle like the one from koch chemie. Get some on a clean and dry mf towel and rub/blot that cleaner in. The foam actually introduces less chemical and helps in not saturating the liner and safely remove the dirt.

Pan are you saying that after we use the XPress Interior cleaner and wipe it dry with a microfibre towel on all interior surfaces, we should wipe the whole areas with a damp microfibre towel? I don’t see those instructions on the XPRess bottle itself or anywhere else so just want to clarify how important this step is?
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
It's just an added safety measure to neutralize any potential left over residue. It's mainly used after APCs as those are highly alkaline, so you don't want to just clean the surface and not neutralize with a damp towel (with just water) after that. The XPress Interior Cleaner has a pH level of 8.5 according to my sources, so it's close enough to pH neutral (especially if you dilute it 1:1) that you don't necessarily have to neutralize it, so the instructions are correct. But I still like to do so as an extra measure of precaution, as I am used to that procedure. It only takes a few extra seconds, and you are sure there's nothing left behind. I hope this answers your question.

Thanks for another helpful video, Pan! Still confused about leatherprotection and -care. Some say all modern leather is vinyl coated so only cleaning is useful, no leatherconditioner nor -protection. What is wisdom? Love to take good care of my car but don't like the idea of wasting time and money on something useless. I own a BMW1-series from January 2020 with black Dakota leather. I recently bought the car and fortunately the leather still looks great.
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
Yes modern leather is coated with usually a polyurethane layer, kind of like the clear coat on your paintwork. Leather conditioners don’t really penetrate that layer if the leather is new or in good shape. What is important to do is protect the leather from friction damage, dye transfer, liquid spills, fading and cracking. For that, you would use a leather sealant or coating. No. If you use the P&S carpet cleaning products, you must use the P&S Finisher peroxyde based product at the end, to neutralize the cleaners. If you use other brands of carpet cleaners, you can use the extractor at the end. The extractor should have the neutralizing solution like the P&S Extractor Shampoo. Two different methods. One is with the chemicals and microfiber towels and brushes. The other method is using a carpet extractor.

I would for sure recommend this one: bit.ly/44fyVgw You can see that product in action against others in its category in my interior detailers battle video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIjFaJKEod6Ki6csi=V9nLFl1o8VwOYHwb Welcome to my channel. Hey Pan! Love your videos. Just a question regarding the tornado dual air blower and cleaner: which "enzyme cleaner" product were you using in there, specifically for the dash, console, cupholders, door Jambs, and even the carpets? Was it just one product or multiple products in separate tornado devices?

Nice tips! Question: How terrible are Drive-Through car washes? Do you have a video on them? I never know if it’s really harmful or just a bit.
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
I would never recommend using drive-through or automated car washes. They use super high pH shampoos that can strip the protection off your car, and eventually dull the paint after repeated use. Always wash your car yourself, using a pH neutral car shampoo. If you can't wash your car yourself, bring it to a professional detailer who can take proper care of it. I recently subscribed to your channel and I can’t stop watching! Thank you for creating so much great content! Quick question…Would you recommend using 303 and InnerQD? My only concern is from everything you have said QD doesn’t offer very much UV protection.
@PanTheOrganizer6 ай бұрын
Both are top notch. InnerQD is more for maintenance as it lightly cleans and protects. 303 Protectant doesn’t clean. It’s just a protectant. You could apply the 303 for long term protection and use InnerQD for regular maintenance. Welcome to my channel. Hey, Pan. Discovered your channel a few days ago and love all the great and reliable information that you share from your many years of detailing. I just bought a new car and want to keep it looking the best it can, so I've been watching many of your videos. I'm a little confused at 24:20 about cleaning windows that are tinited. You made it clear to not use a magic eraser but you say "normal glass with no tint film" and then mention using a degreaser, all purpose cleaner, or dawn dish soap. So none of that can be used on tinted windows? what would you recommend to degrease tinted windows? Thanks

How long should it take to do the interior? Give or take. You're the best Pan!

Thanks! Welcome to my channel. You discovered one of the biggest car detailing channels on KZbin as we surpassed 965,000 subscribers and we have over 130 million views! I have been detailing for 26 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers. You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing. Unfortunately, there are no guidelines in terms of how long an interior detail should take as there are too many variables. Your experience level, the dirt level of the interior, what types of materials are in the car, size of the vehicle, etc I usually say it takes the time needed to get the job done right. ;) How did you discover my channel by the way?
@Bluehaze031211 ай бұрын
@PanTheOrganizer Thank you! I've been detailing for a few months now but found that it had been taking me a lot longer than expected to do an entire vehicle. Maybe too long. We all learn as we go so you are probably right when you mention all of those variables. I'm still discovering what works best for me as far as efficiency and quality. Because I'm a perfectionist and that has been my biggest obstacle. I've been watching your videos for quite some time now though in preparation for this newfound passion. I appreciate all the time and dedication you put in your work!

Thanks! If the scuff marks are light, you can carefully use an APC and magic eraser. See this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/boK3eH-poqx8rZo If the scuffs are too deep, unfortunately there's no solution as that means there's too much missing material.

Hi Pan, thumbs up for all of your videos, they are inspirational and so easy to follow. My Q7 has recently gotten white road paint on the bonnet which has dried. Can you suggest what product I can use to remove the paint, please?
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
Ouch! That's never a simple answer, as it depends on so many factors. It's hard to troubleshoot these things at a distance, without seeing the damage. It also depends if your vehicle has some sort of protection on the paint, as that can help with the cleanup, but also depending on what chemical you use to remove the paint, it can potentially break down the protection. If it's just a wax or sealant, no worries, you can reapply a fresh layer afterwards. But if it's an expensive ceramic coating, it might damage the coating, and you'd have to repolish the area and reapply the coating. One thing is for sure, address the issue as quickly as possible. Don't let that paint bake in the sun for weeks on end. Always wash and dry your car first, to start with a clean surface. Then, pick one of these simple remedies for road paint removal. 1) Use this product: amzn.to/3PH4dZP Spray it on the surface, and let it dwell 30-60 seconds. Wipe off with a microfiber towel, and repeat if needed. Once done, thoroughly rinse the area. I would wash the car again to make sure no residue is left. 2) Use this product: amzn.to/3poPtV2 pour some on a microfiber towel, apply to the area, and gently wipe. Thoroughly rinse once done, and again, wash the car to neutralize any residue. 3) Some people sometimes have success with just using a carnauba liquid wax, apply it on the affected area, and gently wipe, and buff off, and it sometimes works. Never work on a hot surface, and don't work in direct sunlight. I hope this helps.
