I bought one of these back in August. It is awesome! The initial price sounds high but sticks and platforms are much more if you go with premium equipment. I love the thing and it so much quicker and convenient than sticks and platform

I sold my linemans rope, sticks, and platform and it paid for the new Panther and lighter. ❤

I rappel also so the safety rope may not be necessary as you mentioned. My interest in this type of system is hunting late season with heavy clothes. I'm not that flexible and it is tough for me to use a one stick with heavy clothes. Most of the trees that I'm climbing are straight without limbs, so this looks like a good choice. Nice job on the review.

Great review. Seems like a decent option for those of us who long for the climber days but something lighter, quieter, more mobile and I argue safer.

the big sell for me is not having the sticks that get caught on EVERYTHING when trying to hike in with ANY kind of brush lol. Though I suppose this could get caught as well.

I'll be ordering one! I don't repel so I will be climbing up and down like I've done for years with other climbers. I will definitely be using paracord to attach it to my saddle so it cannot fall out of reach. I also think some type of small bungy cord behind the heals will give more control of the platform when climbing. Great review , Thanks!
@TheBudgetSportsman
@TheBudgetSportsman 2 ай бұрын
The bungee cord was my initial though at first as well, but this is a much smaller platform than a traditional climber and much easier to control. It takes figuring out how to wedge your feet in to control the climber and then your golden. Now I appreciate not having the bungee so it’s easy to step out as needed during the climb

I don’t repel with mine. Two extra minutes to get down is no big deal versus cost of rope, bag, belay device, weight, and hassle

We each have our own preferences. I have come to find that rappelling is worth it for me in every situation. I feel more comfortable descending. I now rappelled regardless of how I got I the tree.

probably the best think i've seen for sadle hunting i've seen looks way better/easier than sticks. I know it wont work for trees with lots of limbs but plenty of straight trees out there.

And it’s still better than a climber because you can actually go around some limbs.

Sliding something up and down a tree is crazy in 2024. This technology seemed good 15 years ago - now it’s the loudest way to climb a tree.

Don’t knock it till you try it. I would hardly say it’s the loudest method and I absolutely love it.

I use the the Tree Top Hunting Mobile Sniper to 1 stick hunt. It is the largest 1 stick platform. I prefer a completely flat surface to stand on with a no angled parts to step over. This flat surface allows me to add a ring of steps. I always want a step on either side of My platform. This makes a big difference. I suppose you could screw in a peg on either side of the Quick Climber. I would like to see a demo on a 20” diameter tree with the large belt on the Quick Climber. Climbers can have belt issues on larger trees and the fact you have to press into the tree an d lift your legs makes it more challenging. One sticking is more universal but it is slower than the Quick Climber. My 1 stick also coverts into a backpack for my top layers when I walk in the woods. Check it out 👍

Personally, I’ve never used steps beside any platform. The football hole on this platform works great for pushing off around trees and the angled bars are great for comfort. I have tried one sticking and personally I can’t stand it.

I appreciate the review. One thing I’ve seen with some other similar platforms is a safety rope to prevent the platform from falling. Does this company provide that option?
@TheBudgetSportsman
@TheBudgetSportsman 16 күн бұрын
I do not believe it comes with such a rope but a small piece of paracord would do the trick. Personally, I did not find it to be necessary. Of course since I rappel, I would have a way to the ground if the platform were to fall. If you were only using a traditional tether, the extra safety precaution may be more necessary.

I have one of these and love it. I had the osprey and didn’t like it. I had the broadside and couldn’t get it to work as advertised. I even had the barren ridge climbing platform. I sold all 3 and kept the panther.

Interesting feedback. I was hoping to do a comparison video of the panther osprey and broadside. Unfortunately, broadside has been backed up on getting out platforms. I didn’t care for the osprey either and ended up returning it.

Could just get a summit viper, cut and the platform in half and still pay less for with half the weight. Which is what several years ago. Glad this idea is catching on.
@TheBudgetSportsman
@TheBudgetSportsman 2 ай бұрын
You could and yes it would be cheaper but I don’t think would be as good as what Panther has designed. It is a piece of gear designed for the purpose rather than a hacked up piece of gear.

@TheBudgetSportsman English is hard sometimes lol. To late to change what i wrote. If you're looking for sticks and a platform and you don't have anything I would go for this the price per pound leans toward the panther. How much price per pound for a summit with a little work Idk. If this was readily available I would return that I do have and get this.

@tray22

@@TheBudgetSportsman The panther is using what appears to be the same band style as the old Loggie Treestands. I have had the pins fail in those but it could have been materials chosen that caused the failure. These look awesome but that bar on the top that flips up into the tree doesn't seem like a good design. Instead I would remove that and run a strap from under the stand to the front edge and then use a pull strap and step into the strap to tighten it. Less to fail and then you will drop the weight.

Damn. I was really hoping this would fold flat. That is a huge negative. I was 100% sold on this idea until that.
@TheBudgetSportsman
@TheBudgetSportsman 12 күн бұрын
@@hashtagjustadad5110 it’s actually not a huge negative. It seems like it at first but the fixed angle is what makes this thing awesome. I tried two other similar products on the market that both fold, and both of them were way more difficult to use and climb with. It’s not nearly as hard to pack as it first seems.

What happens if you are going around a limb and, ooops, you drop it... And you don't tether down... Or you are climbing and, ooops, it falls to the ground. So then you have to find a way to attach it to you so that doesn't happen... Or hope it doesn't. Having said all that, I like the concept and I am considering it.
@TheBudgetSportsman
@TheBudgetSportsman 2 ай бұрын
First, I think the chances of dropping it are slim. Second I would never climb without being tethered to the tree Third I climb with my rappel rope so if I dropped the climber I could simply rappel down. Fourth, use a small piece of paracord and tie the climber to your saddle if you are concerned.

So $400.00 plus, and how much for a good saddle " that can only last 3-4 years ." Close to $800.00. LMAO 🤣. What happened to real men, carry some weight 🤣. That's 4-5 lock on's, 80 to 100 feet of sticks. And a lot safer, no set up time, just climb, hunt.

@ my setup has a bunch of components and it adds up to that much. All I’m saying is if it was even 275- 300 dollars I would have bought one because I have been looking for something like this for years now. But once you start getting close to half a grand for a platform it’s definitely overpriced.
@TheBudgetSportsman
@TheBudgetSportsman 27 күн бұрын
@Bofumforyou I get what you’re saying but it a small start up business that has an awesome product. His pricing is similar to the two competitive products on the market, while offering a product that blows the competition out of the water. Seems to me that no one complains about $400 for a one stick, but this is a similar concept (climbing system and platform in one).
