I lost my dad in 2023 to alcoholism. He had cancer which he overcame but the emotional damage he went through when he became sick, he gave up on his own life while he was still living and gave himself organ failure which is what truly took his life. I was 25 and he was 1 month away from being 79. I planned an entire redo for my adult life with him and I never got to because I moved states away at the age of 21. To hear the dad in this music video say to his son that he’s “beyond help” is what broke me. This video hits really close to home and is one of my new favorite songs. Thank you for helping me heal my own wounds.

@@TrumpTrain86 If evolve like "some" Dinosaurs evolved into chickens, they rather not evolve. For example I am a big fan of Hybrid Theory and Meteora by Linkin Park, and they are a good band but their later work is not that good in my opinion. Linkin Park's lyrics and the message is fine, but they lost their Nu Metal sound. But you can like them for everything if you want. Sometimes not evolving and staying the same like a Croc or shark (With minimal evolution) is also awesome. Like Papa Roach or bands like Korn.

If this song teaches anything, it is to make peace with any family you have before it's too late. I never had that real opportunity 14 years ago when my father passed away. Don't make this same mistake guys, it'll haunt you forever.
@asfuji2 жыл бұрын
I still don't know how to feel. I am 24 now. My father left us when I was 6 and my brother was 8. When I was 7 I got diagnosed with cancer which I beat. While I was being cured, our father got massive loans from people around the town claiming it's for his son's medication. He gambled and drank all the money. He was supposed to pay alimony but never did. Then he passed away about 2 years ago and I just don't know how to feel about this since he never was here for us and had no interest. The last time I saw him was when I was like 9 and after beating the cancer, we sat on a pub garden out for a while but he didn't seem interested how we're actually doing. I forgot to say he was kicked out of the house by my mum cuz he was drinking and abusive at that time - even me and my brother took his bag and put it outside, because we hated he was insulting our mother. Anyways, having no role model, I had to raise myself up on my own from father's side and I'm mentally healthy and aware adult now and happy with myself and where I am, I just wonder how different my life would be if he was there.

I disowned my mother, her abuse is what haunts me not the loss of a relationship with her. I agree with your statement only when there isn't abuse involved. I've been told too many times "she's your mother just make amends" and while I don't think that's what you meant by the comment, just your own personal regret, it still hit close to home because we don't have to make peace with people that seriously hurt us.

The lyrics of this song are great and so relatable for me. My girlfriend deals with a lot of mental anxiety and depression which causes her sometimes to isolate herself from the world and even at times not even want to talk to me. She always cries and tries to apologize as she continues to overcome so many weights and mental burdens like this song references. But I always tell her I don't want to be one more burden, one more weight, and one more front that she is battling in her head. So I always tell her I don't need apologies, I just wish that her stress of letting me down didn't causes her burdens to become even heavier and that disappointment in her mind is just one more battle front she is has to face and endure. I love that this song touches such a unique topic but an important one; the burdens we carry as empathetic individuals and sometimes we feel defeated to anxiety or depression and feel like we can't be what our loved ones need us to be. But this song is a great reminder that the ones close to us happily will take that stress and letdown from time to time because we care and love the person who is struggling and although I appreciate it's okay I don't need an apology I just wish I could help you feel better and your mental health is more important to me than just a little bit of heartache once in a while. I suspect Papa Roach wrote this in relation to family who we never got to spend time with or we let down growing up, but the same applies to relationships... but I just love the idea of these lyrics of not the person who is suffering but the person who supports them during that suffering and the idea of being in another person's shoes or role. But regardless, thank you for reading if you made it this far, and for those out there who deal with anxiety or depression don't let it rob you of your life or your destiny and I encourage you to keep fighting. Thank you again Papa Roach for an amazing song

@@TheDragginfly As someone who almost lost their life and leg after a traumatic injury back in Dec 2019 and also continues to battle PTSD, and mental anxiety and physical health issues.. my spirit is strong. And when I heard this song the first time it made me think of this topic right away and I can relate to it on being on both sides of the coin of dark times and struggle. There are times where I have felt like a burden to those close to me and wanted to push them away and at times I am there to lift people up when I can and know that I can do better. I feel like Jacoby's dad showed that he has gotten better and although it has taken a long time he finally has improved and finally did reach out to his son after so long... to finally let him be close again. I think Jacoby appreciates the apology and at this point just wants his father to be okay and for himself to be okay... he doesn't want to burden and doesn't need any apologies. But it applies to so many contexts. But anyway, I just wrote my original message from the heart after going through a lot but I was very happy to share and I'm glad you liked it. Your words are very kind and made me smile.

The fact that they made the tie in from Help, one of their most emotional powerful songs, one of my all time favs, to this one, No Apologies, as a sequel to that song, was brilliant! To see the actor who played the bunny in Help to now, looking absolutely ripped (and emotionally recovered), and the circle of life theme, brought tears to my eyes!

To someone who's best friend and wife struggles with their own father this hits. To all the father's out there who feel they failed their sons or daughters, you always have a second chance. ❤️🖤❤️
