There's a weird aspect of being a prodigy, that just means you "get it" earlier than everyone else your age. But as you get older and those guys who didn't "get it" as fast as you are starting to come up on your level, I wonder how that makes a person feel psychologically who started as a young prodigy...
@mooman90879 ай бұрын
It takes a combination of talent and experience to overcome either. This little dude had and no doubt still has both (obviously not as much experience as some others at the time) but can clearly learn fast and hence, gain the experience. He's the best of both worlds. Such a cool and talented little dude. I hope you're doing well Noah, all the best dude

Also good to keep in mind that there are certain age ranges where one's reflexes / execution is max and optimal, and then an age where it slowly declines. And the differences between using a keyboard/ fightstick / pad, can impact timing due to smaller / shorter finger movements

Younger players have both higher reaction speed as well as the lack of "fear" that develops with experience, this allows them to use hyper aggressive strategies to overwhelm even experienced and older players. Of course this also requires the younger players to be really good and practiced at the game. Different age groups play the game at different speeds and thus develop different styles, for a fighting game microsecond differences can mean win or loss, so an aggressive playstyle by a very reactive player can be a very powerful strategy against opponents who biologically can't keep up.
@Whensmahvel111 ай бұрын
lol i get what your saying and its a little factor but you acting like he playing agasint someone who is 40/50.
@GuyWithAnAmazingHat11 ай бұрын
@@Whensmahvel1 Nah it's actually a big deal, reaction times start dropping past 25, it's why most eports pros retire after that. Fighting game pros also know that but because FGs have a lot of legacy knowledge that builds up fundamentals through experience, they can make it up for the loss in reaction speed. In a Taiwanese GQ interview Oil King in his 30s said that he actually can't keep up even with players like Punk who are already themselves in the 20s.

He showed its never to late to start playing fighting games? What? I agree that statement is true but he didn't show that. He showed the raw ability of children to learn things very quickly. Which is true of all things. If you want to be top tier in extremely competitive and popular fields then you pretty much have to start early and be pretty good as a child. There are always exceptions but in general, in very competitive and popular fields the top ppl almost all have been training hard since childhood.
