Horns do work like that! There's an outer keratin layer called the horn sheath, and the inner core is actual bone. (Antlers on the other hand do not have a bone core and naturally shed off/regrow, i.e. deer, caribou, elk, etc.) Also what's pretty funny is they used an Asian water buffalo horn sheaths which makes absolutely no sense being there.

9:27 🤓 Um actually, that IS exactly how horns work there is a central core that kind of holds all the nutrients and then I guess it's like a cartilage substance almost that's in between that and then there's the shell of the horn itself which is made out of keratin the same thing that like are fingernails are made of but with like a different composition, I have goats and we've actually had a few pass away and for the longest time I didn't realize that's actually how it was until I first saw it myself and had it explained to me so I just wanted to nerd out about that for a moment

Yep, came here to comment the same thing. Bovine horns have a bone core and a keratin sheath that can be pulled off once the skull dries out (deer antlers are all bone in comparison). Although the movie did stick big Water Buffalo horn sheaths on a cow skull.

I went to summer camp at Mohican state park for 10 years. One year my family took some family photos in front of the rock wall at the dam. Imagine our surprise when watching this movie at home and realizing we know exactly where it was filmed! Fun fact, when I was a camp counselor for a special needs summer camp, my group of 7 year olds found a porno DVD in the park pavilion at the dam featured in the movie. It includes a post it and phone number looking for adult actors 😅 17:46 17:34

@lalli8152
@lalli8152 5 ай бұрын
Most of the world i think uses 24hour clock as standard. I have heard americans call even normal 24hr digital display for example "military time" which is so strange to me. Although would be kinda strange to hear people always say time in that american military fashion because you can just say 5 when its am, instead something like oh-fivehundred, and just 17 when its 5pm so in digital watch it would be 17:00 on the display. You dont need to add the 0 's in normal speech thats what makes it so confusing sounding i think to people who are not used to it. Although most countries where the 24hr clock is standard people still in speech i think just says 5 no matter is it pm or am because usually theres already context what you mean

Hey, Papa Meat/MeatCanyon, I'm a big fan of your channels, but I have to point something out here. I know the Sheen/Estevez family can be confusing, but you had a little mix-up. Joe Estevez is Emilo and Charlie's uncle, and he is the younger brother to Martin Sheen.

I was wondering who was going to catch that. Also, no mention of Dan “Grizzly Adams” Haggerty as the guy who gets his head shoved through the saw at the beginning. Also no mention that Jesse Kove is the son of Martin Kove aka Sensei John Kreese of Karate Kid and Cobra Kai

9:15 not to be that guy, but that IS how horns work, the actual HORN bit we see is just a sheath that covers the horn core, which is the little horn inside the actual horn

Military time is actually not just used by the military but by healthcare workers too. It is to prevent confusion between morning hours and non-morning hours.

The horn thing is actually accurate since they have bone inside and get blood supplied giving the foundation a weird look to it when you remove the horn, also if you didnt know some animals can shed their horns and antlers, not all horned animal can do it tho

9:15 - that was actually anatomically correct! cows, antelope, sheep, etc, all have inner cores attached to the skull that are sheathed in a layer of keratin, and that's the part of the horn we can see externally! :) sorry if this has already been explained, i just luv science

yeah that's how horns work lmao we have sheep and goats at our farms and I kept the skull of one of our male goats cause it looked great, and there is indeed an "inside" horn that's attached to the skull and an outer horn that's made of what fingernails are made of, which gives it this kind of shiny "plastic" appearance. And when the skull is completely dry, has no flesh left on it, you can just tug on the outer horns and it'll reveal the inner horn. Look it up, it's actually pretty cool! So I think they used a real cow skull here

There absolutely IS a horn inside a horn on many animals. Rams, bulls, buffalo etc. I actually own a ram skull with one curled horn and one nubby white horn where the original big one was. Those little horns are just what prevents the bigger horns snapping at the base when they ram things with them.
