I actually created my own dragon sculpture after binge watching your videos for a while....I am not entirely satisfied with it, but I think for my first paper mache things it turned out really well. I had some massive issues with my glue, it did not stick properly on cloth, and the paper mache itself was really hard to put into place...it was really not the easiest. But thank you for making those videos! I love to watch them!

@@indoyt1402 I don't paint any paper. After sculpting with the paper mache parts, I add a "skin" of cloth (old bed sheets) and white glue. The glue is all purpose Elmer's or PVA or wood glue. Painting directly on paper mache with water based paint will undermine the mache. The paper will get wet and the paste will dissolve. That is what was happening to you I would guess.

Some people get mad because the time-lapse is too fast (even though you can watch it at slower speeds using the settings in the lower right hand of the video). Thank you. I know people would like to see me post more often. But these projects take a lot of time to make. This dragon took three months to make and then I had to edit over 100 videos for this little 3 minute video. Just had to say. But I appreciate very much that you enjoy them.

When I was about 3 or 4 years old, I remember seeing a big beautiful papier-mâché dragon on a college campus. I remember my mother telling me it was for a play that they were advertising. Watching you create this dragon brought back to that memory from nearly 60 years ago. You obviously have a passion for the subject. I like the addition of resin horns. 😎

Thank you! I only decided to make an Ice dragon if I could make good horns that looked like ice. The clear casting resin worked well so I went for it. I think turned out well. So glad you like it!

Whenever you make dragon heads, I get the vibe of mounted trophies/spoils. So I see it as you being a mighty dragon hunter, with many heads adorning your walls.

Dan, I LOVE THE WAY YOUR ADDING LIGHTS NOW! Excellent!! I don't expect you to remember me, but we talked as I want to use the skills you teach for Christmas outdoor displays in the NE of PA. My MS has not been helping me nor the tearing of rotator cuff three times within 8 months. BUT I DO PLAN ON making a mail box as well as a 5' Angel for the outdoor Nativity. A few years ago in middle school my art class based a project around your art style and to this day it has been my favorite art piece I have created. It didnt turn out very well, but it was just pure fun and artistic exploration. Thank you for inspiring me and I love your work now and forever

@@Gourmetpapermache Being biased on this topic is not a bad thing as I believe that anytime to do paper mache is a great time to do paper mache :D Right now I'm working on a painting to be displayed at my local library, but I'm planning on starting a paper mache project next month based on a wyvern (dragon like creatures are cool and so are bats and lizards) or maybe a fish.. So many possibilities!

I only found out about your work recently and I am so happy to see you are still making your wonderful creatures! The resin(?) horns are gorgeous and then you went the extra mile to make them light up as well. So many little details, it's delightful to see it all happen. Love how you add little moments with your cats as well to the video. You inspired me to make a creature out of paper mache too someday! I mainly use clay and fabrics but am always up for a challenge. :)

Oh wow, this is amazing. I made a paper mache hummingbird once. I cut out all the feathers and glued them into place over the body. It was the only thing I ever did, though this has me considering starting to make more. Loved watching this and the end result was stunning.

If you want parts of the dragon movable you can use latex rubber on the cloth instead of glue.
