My viewers ranked EVERY battle theme in Paper Mario Sticker Star! But not just that. They ranked every battle theme in ever Mario RPG game, including every Paper Mario, every Mario & Luigi, every Mario + Rabbids, and both versions of Super Mario RPG. The servey was conducted by giving viewers a knockout bracket and calculating the win rates for every song when pitted against the rest of the series.
In this video, you can expect to hear the iconic battle themes such as those belonging to Pokey, Petey Piranha, the Snow Statue, Goomba, Wiggler, Gooper Blooper, Bowser Jr., Kamek/Magikoopa, and even the song from "Angriest Comment Thread on KZbin".
This video series will cover every Mario RPG game individually, and will end with a massive ranking video with over 400 songs. There is no set schedule, so videos may take anywhere between days and weeks to be released. The full compilation video will likely be released on my main channel, ‪@MayroSMM‬ when it's ready.

There is no set schedule for when these will be posted, but I will be going in order of when each game was released. DLC and side modes will be bundled together in each video. Try not to take these lists too seriously as they are taken from a reletively small sample size! Unfortunately, I completely forgot about the music that plays when you stun Gooper Blooper. I always try to beat him without using the Sponge so I completely forgot that part of the song existed. Additionally, some of the song titles may not be official as I am not aware of any sources for them. There is an ingame music player, but it does not contain every song.

I've already seen two people trash on Bowser's phase 1 theme in these comments, and I think it's because of Fred The Monty Mole's video ranking every Paper Mario battle theme where he had it ranked DEAD LAST... For some reason.

Can’t wait for color splash. Those boss battle themes are my favorite throughout the whole series imo (I haven’t played much of the older paper Mario games, I’ve only played the three newest ones, so if there’s a better soundtrack in any of the other games then excuse me bc I’ve probably never heard it)

I do think that sticker star's music could've had more variety when it came to its instrumentation, but I still really like the soundtrack overall. it's filled with bangers and I'm not allergic to "mario jazz" like some people seem to be lol. certainly not the best paper mario soundtrack but I am fond of listening to it from time to time. I never even realized how good most of the battle themes are until watching this video. compared to the previous paper mario games, it really feels like they didn't waste any opportunity with the battle themes. they went all out and tried to make everything memorable. I think pretty much all of these songs should've gotten 5-10% higher win rates than what they got. still, I'm happy that the voters gave these songs consideration at all instead of just ignoring them because they came from sticker star. as for the ranking itself, I agree with it for the most part. my biggest disagreements would be... event battle is too low, tower power pokey is too low, and I'd give the win to spectacular finale (but gooper blooper is also a great pick)

I wonder if bowser phase 2 was thumped by phase 1 has something to do with how little you actually hear phase 2 before kersti steals the finale. Dunno. Probably just my specific taste. I much prefer phase 2 over phase 1

Not sure what it is about sticker stars music that doesn’t really click for me. I mean, it’s good, I can acknowledge that, but I dunno, I guess its particular style doesn’t work for me. In fact it’s given me an allergic reaction to brass in soundtracks. Ridiculous, I know. I suppose it’s because to me it feels the least “paper Mario-y” out of all the series. But it does fit the game perfectly. Which when the game is sticker star, isn’t really the best compliment.

a lot of these songs arent bad, but they arent really good. Spectacular Finale and Gooper Blooper Battle Boogie are the only really interesting songs- Spectacular Finale sounds like its going to lead to a sick drop but then it doesnt. Supreme Sparkling King bowser is a rare type of song that's both good and uninteresting.

The Wiggler Segment theme rightfully deserves to be at the bottom. Randomly dodging your attacks is the cheapest way to artificially increase the length of a fight.

iirc it's not random, you just use stuff that hits indirectly like pows

It's not random, there's specific attacks that it dodges. Also, the dodge chance goes down every turn so you're guaranteed any attack if you wait long enough
