Lol hearing this takes me back to that day I nearly had a heart attack fighting this boss. I was at 1 HP and she was at 7 and was about to kill me. Then suddenly the pyrotechnical devices on stage turn over and fried her! XD I nearly started laughing as well as crying after making it out with only 1 HP and pure luck on my side. good times. good times.

I still swear to this day that I once dreamt of the Shadow Queen's crypt and witnessed the room full of candles in a dream, before I had ever accessed that part of the game. I am still filled with a strong sense of dread and fear of why I saw the entire layout of such a creepy area before I had actually seen it.

Ah Shadow Queen. It took us forever to beat her because we were kids back at the time and didn't realize how useless the HP stat is in comparison to FP and BP(especially this one).

HP isn't totaly useless, you do need to boost it up a bit if you run a normal set-up. But i definitly agree that BP is by far the best. You just can do so much woth it, even throw it back in HP/FP if you end up with to much.

Yeah. I don't ignore it completely. Whenever I do a new playthough I normally end with 30-40 HP. It lets me do cool things with out totally annihilating everything with stuff like Danger Mario.

I had my stats at about 80 HP, 20 FP, and IDKWhatBPAmountIHad. I died one attack away from Shadow Queen because I screwed up Vivian's Shade Fist. Then I went in with 40HP, 20FP, and ALotMoreBPThanWhateverIHadBefore. Get Rekt, Woman.

Here's a little fun fact : Once, I was trying to beat the Shadow Queen, she had like 15 health left and I had around 3 without life shrooms. So just when I was about to beat her, guess what killed me ? The audience. THE FUC*ING AUDIENCE. While I wasn't paying attention to them, they threw like 4-5 rocks at me. I raged so hard !

I thought Bonetail was harder since you have to deal with many enemies in the pit of 100 trials & he's difficult to beat. A lot of places on the internet I look says that Bonetail's a bigger challenge than Shadow Queen herself.

You just need to bring a whole bunch of supplies with you to make it through the pit. Bonetail himself is easy. All you gotta do is charge up Goombella a few turns and hit him with the multibonk. Bonetail's defense sucks, so it'll deal big damage. It's how I beat him, and I found him pretty easy compared to that FUCKING BITCH SHADOW QUEEN! >:(

My friend and i just beat this game in a three day continuous play-through. To our amazement, we not only beat her in one try, but didn't die through the whole game (except for a fight with a surprisingly brave amazy dayzee)

The feeling of, "WHAT THE HELL" when she was invincible, and watching the scene when everyone was shouting and cheering for you! It was dark, i was home alone. I've played both banjo games, all pokemon games, Halo, james bond, racing games and this in my childhood - but the 3 stage fight against the shadow queen, home alone in the dark - the strongest childhood moment i've ever had.

That would definitely be awesome especially because I was only able to beat this game in the first half of 2007 in 3rd grade when I was obsessed with this game. I played it partway through twice and erased both of those files. Then later, I moved somewhere else but then my memory card became corrupt all of the sudden! I miss this game so much, it's my second favourite GameCube game as well as my favourite one starring Mario!

Yes, i thought you had to beat her before going invincible! And i also thought i was fucked when she did...And when she ate all the audience, i felt really alone, i felt like this was something i could never win, and when the music changed after the star-scene, and people slowly returned to the audience, and when you get that bingo, and you suddenly have full audience, it really did something with the mood of the fight! Fantastic!

I remember when I fought this boss for the first time I ended up losing to her... WHEN SHE HAD 2 HP LEFT. I screwed up a Power Bounce and lost the fight due to that mistake. I was not happy, having to replay the cutscenes and all after being so close.

i beat thousand year door for the first time today, i loved it and i hope origami king is just as good, if not somehow better... its just i don't think the last boss will be as epic in origami king. because the whole build up to this final boss was kinda just having a really terrifying final area, really eerie backstory and just being pulled off in such a weird way... i personally don't think anything in origami king will get too "spooky" as the thousand year door did

@JIKKmaster Try killing Bonetail WITHOUT super jump. I had the double inventory bag thing with 10 life mushrooms and 10 Jelly Ultra's(50hpAND50fp) and by the time I got to bonetail I had 5 of each item left and Kept using Power Jump(had 4 power jumps equiped.) It took a long fight cause Bonetail has the same ammount of HP as Shadow Queen and has a Super Breath attack that you WANT to avoid or else you will be inflicted with random status.

yet almost nothing was kept from the predecessors: no round-based battles, different characters/opponents, no "paper" feeling. and with the last point, missing the paper feeling, this game is by far the worst paper mario i've ever played (along with sticker star). PPM2 is the best for me closely followed by the first one.

I was poisoned, accidentally got poison mushrooms, so my situation looked bleak. My mind raced as I used a power punch and began to dodge and super guard like a boss, using power lift to gain my "Kratos status". Crushed her after 2-3 turns afterwards. My sudden motivation: Talking to my father for the first time in my life.
