Savage Summer Movie Haul

Sup kemosabe. Sorry for the inactivity and radio silence the last few months. I'm not dead, I didn't contract The Virus, none of that. 2020 was shit, though, as we can all agree -- and 2021 isn't looking too auspicious either, fol. I'd already been feeling a little burned-out on the channel and decided this past summer it was time for a break. So I stepped away, turned off notifications, etc. A friend recently told me some people were concerned, however, which prompted me to check the comments... So I just wanted to let everyone know what's up. I'm not hanging it up for good, just taking a break. Don't know for how long. I must say, my reading of late has been awful. I've been finding it really tough to immerse myself in books the way I used to; I've been reading even slower than usual. On the plus side, I do feel like there are plenty of KZbin channels now discussing vintage horror -- way more than when I started in 2018 -- so the vacuum shouldn't feel so airless and large. I'm sure I'll be back at some point. In the meantime, stay well, bro.

Its fantastic to hear from you Leon! Im so thankful that you are ok. So many people, me included, were concerned about you so its great to know you are still with us. I completely understand the need for a break and the reading slump you are going through. This has happened to me too for various reasons. There's been only a handful of books that really grabbed me last year and even those took forever to read so I get where you are coming from. Take good care of yourself and remember how much we all care about you.

I just wanted to update everyone on Leon, there was a rumor floating around that he sadly passed away due to Covid a few months ago. I hope it's not true but things aren't looking too good. from what i could gather he was a school teacher if I'm not mistaken?

I use Amazon a lot, but I’ll also order directly from a lot of the boutique companies like Vinegar Syndrome, Dark Force Entertainment, and Scream Factory. Diabolik DVD is a good one-stop shop.

Dude I just picked up White Spider by Joyce Wolf. It's A Leisure book published in 1987. I have the 1992 edition. It's a basic white cover with black web, a black spider and the title written in green. Do you have this one?

I'll have to check some of those films, Leon but if you really want to see a really good Punisher film. You gotta check out the 04 version of The Punisher. Make sure you get the director's cut. It is hands down the best Punisher film ever made! And like 2012 version of Dredd, 04 Punisher never got a sequel which is a damn shame as it would have been great action film to come out the mid 2000s. Please, show us you're anime collection. I'm big anime fan myself.

Yeah I saw the 2004 version and also the 2008 version, which was pretty violent. I love the 2012 Dredd. One of the best action movies of the last 10 years, shame we never got a sequel.

@@PaperbackMania I hated the 08 version of The Punisher. It was like Natural Born Killers, all style and no story. I gotta get my hands on that director's cut of 04 version of The Punisher and I wished that sequel happened same with the Dredd film. However AD 2000 is working on making a TV series of Judge Dredd titled, Judge Dredd: Mega City One. Can't wait till that comes out.

I don’t think I have a video of my all-time faves. Maybe that’ll be my triumphant comeback video lol. I used to get a lot of them at used bookstores in Southern California. Also would order a bunch online: EBay or Abebooks.
