Yep same here. I saw this when I was 16. It's like something from Stanley Kubrick when I think about it today.

Me too. I think it still does haunt me lol. I must have been 12 years old when it came out and went to see it in the theater. It is still one of the best movies I've ever seen.

It is ever-more sad that his only escape is this nether wold of dreams, yet even in his dreams he is held captive by the haunting specter of what his life has become. I'm always gripped by the gentleman with the brown hair & those piercing, lifeless brown eyes . ... They're so haunting.

@danbaron9094 Жыл бұрын
Interesting fact: McQueen drank a lot of beer and ate a lot while filming Papillon, so he actually gained weight. The director and cinematographer were forced to keep giving McQueen larger and larger prison rags/clothes to wear for his scenes so he would look thinner. In contrast, Hoffman was a method actor, so he lost weight during the filming of Papillon to be in character.

@jakezywek6852 Жыл бұрын
It is designed to depict the mind creating extra stimuli because the character has been away from company for so long, also the hope our subconscious has of seeing people who are gone, and the the mind's realization is shown toward the end of the dream.
