Crimson is probably my favorite character; I love how blunt and honest she is compared to everyone else. Especially after going around the island, dealing with suspects that refuse to budge, it’s so refreshing to have someone that just gives you what you’re asking for instead of dodging the question. It’s so funny to me that Akiko refuses to tell Love Dies about her Goldfish, and then meanwhile Crimson is like “Yeah, I seduced K.HX for the Holy Seal Key… anyways did you know Eyes Kiwami was paying Henry’s mom hush money??”

1:19 - as much as i understand the frustrations of suspects in this game so often giving you very little at best, and often nothing, when questioned, i think this is why. i think everyone realized that the punishment for being involved would be VERY severe, so they had a huge incentive to keep their mouths shut until they were already convicted, regardless of how much LD knew during the investigation.

I actually really felt like the friendship mechanic was a cool addition because it used a really genre-standard format in a slightly different context. Since you still have hangouts while you strongly suspect folks, past a certain point of the game it made me confront the fact that i was intentionally trying to get close to people in order to maybe get them killed in a very direct way. But i also did hang out loops while exploring so i didnt have to do much intentional friendship raising at the end.

Per your conversation around 58:00 - i'm a huge booster for this game, but it's definitely a flawed gem, for sure. i didn't find the whole "they never give anything much up during questioning" to be as frustrating as you did (but i think they're completely reasonable complaints for sure), but the hangouts/relationship thing does seem out of place, and the platforming and jumping and collectathon-y elements feels kind of weird to be in this game as well. i really hope the devs return both to this world (because the world building and setting are some of my favorite parts of it) and the mystery format in the future. i know they have an upcoming game announced that seems both a completely different style of gameplay and also in a completely unrelated setting... but i'm crossing my fingers for a PK sequel of some kind in the future...

So. There was abutton you couldd press that showed you the location of items and blood crystals, as well as evidence and points of interest. I think you've used it for like two episodes after getting the upgrade and then forgotten about it until now. Maybe that can still be useful, I hope?

It is interesting that it seems like you dislike all the characters? I think some of them are awful and a bigger chunk are pretty likeable, personally. I think Crimson, Doom Jazz, the Day Breaks, One Last Kiss, and especially Henry are quite likeable or sympathetic in various ways. Shinji also, of course. Oh, and I think Lady Love Dies is also very likeable, but obviously personal tastes vary.

Honestly, I wouldn't feel too bad about backtracking on the trial and going back to investigating. This game is obtuse as all get-out and sometimes it's just really unclear what the best way to proceed is, and occasionally you just kind of luck into important stuff (like a certain bunker).

Yeah i went to the trial having maxed all relationships and thought i'd covered everything. It then came out that there was another person involved. had to go back and find the bunker.
