Indeed and it couldn't exist without the Sisters of Mercy influence...They even did a cover of them in the Singles Collection Box (1997): "Walk Away", but I think this is closer to one of their hit "Temple of Love", or to an even more obsessive song, if you don't know it, listen to "Heartland", you will be blown away...

This song is great because of so called "Paradise Lost riff" It was often used in their Gothic album and so on in later years. Every song that has Paradise Lost riff is great. My favorite is As I die. I became their fan forever after hearing it in 92.

Paradise lost has nothing to prove, they are the KINGS OF DARKNESS, PERIOD. Just listen to the last album Greg and nick have released with their side project HOST!. Tomorrows sky! Master piece. This band is the mother of all. HERE IS SOMETHING ELSE CONCERNING TO ICON, well they went from doom, to more thrash I can even dare to say they had a Metallica approach, now that my FAV ALBUM IS DRACONIAN TIMES!. I do love all of them and OBSIDIAN is not the exception. Great Reaction guys.

This reminds me so much of their album One Second. 'till this day one of my favorites, together with Draconian Times and Faith Divides Us/Death Unites Us. And still one record that has made me see Paradise Lost with much more love and see that they can be different in the same type of sound, althought they basically create their own genre. Into the song, Nick Holmes voice is precious. In the whole new album you can listen to all the Paradise Lost "eras". And live he's unique. And, like always, the bass lines of Steve Edmondson are something that you keep in your head for the whole day. Didn't know the channel, but really like everything. Gratz and keep on rockin'.
