Beautiful scenery and lovely town/area. Love the old Europe feel ... like being attached to your ancestors and some continuity with the past. In America, everything is like a strip-mall without any cultural meaning or ancestral importance. We are just economic "units", ripe for the fleecing by the C-suite types and globalists. Stay safe out there!

Well, after living in Megéve for a year in 1978-79, it took me all of 0.2 seconds to recognize the mountain at 22:30. You're driving out of Megève, into Demi-Quartier. Great place. Gotta love the Alps.

Unlucky with the weather Annecy is just great to fly. I never hike up ( even in trail shoes. ) as normally navetts run up from landing field.. Been down midi ridge hiking would not like to try launch from that area.. Did you not fancy trying parapente de Plaine Joux . I live in UK but leart to fly here.. I miss the alpes can not wait to get back there.

If you get the opportunity Sam,. You would absolutely enjoy paraglide off Tegalberg Mountain in Bavaria. The views of Forgensee and the Castle. Plus they serve great beer at the restaurant, and you don't ever need to hike as there is a gondola.

Not for me, Sam. When I was your age these things weren't invented yet. And I've seen too many of those canopies collapsing so I stayed with crewing on sail when I was a lot younger. I couldn't even handle climbing a mast just too scared of height. Even a bucket truck was scary for me when I had to rent one of those things to trim trees on our place here in West Palm Beach.

Loved the video Sam, been watching you for years. I bought a sailboat in San Fran, need to refit then we're off. I'm 59 want to sail and kite board/ paraglide...I had the crazy idea of a powered paraglider taking off in a cam on a crossing with 4 15 foot blowup islands connected behind a sailboat for takeoff and landing...maybe you can be the first to do it! You have a year or two lead on me...and bring along a drone to catch your footage...

4:09 Here I've been for the last 30 years thinking that parachute landings stood a considerable chance of breaking someone's leg, and when I finally (yes, this is the first time) see it from a horizontal view, it looks like the softest, sweetest landing I could possibly imagine.

So... I broke down and bought some actual shoes. Mark this episode date down - Sam the Man fans. Are Crocs... more aerodynamic for flight operations? They are less weight and kinda slipstreamyness. Ok we just took off - it looks like it's gonna be a fast flight. Gravity at work. I know let's hike to the top of this mountain and jump off into the fog bank below - just for the hell of it. Raise your hand if you wanna go too? For our guy Sam... it's just another day in the big adventure of life. I sail oceans, jump off the occasional mountain top and deal with the complexities of customs & immigration to foreign countries in my spare time. Sam ur special - one of my sorta hero's. The lone wolf adventurer, I follow here on the U-Tube sailing channels. Others being - Thomas from Be Free, Kevin from How to Sail Oceans, and Barry of Adventures of an old Sea Dog fame. Part 007 James Bond international man of mystery, part Macgyver I can fix that and... quite possibly a new Avenger character. U rock buddy!
