How could he bring the profession into disrepute if he wasn't yet qualified?

A question I have (as a non-religious person) is whether priests and others might end up being fined or jailed for preaching their faith). This has implications for all faiths. If it is made a criminal offence to "misgender" someone, does a future Labour or Conservative government want to have lots of cases of religious believers being jailed, or is it going to hope that this will have a chilling effect? The next general election is going to be interesting. All candidates must be asked to state their views clearly on the issue.

I am a white middle class middle aged man (you know, those humans who are brushed off, excluded and treated as irrelevant and at worst, a threat and danger!). My 15 yr old daughter was born in the wrong time, her puberty arriving at peak trans ideology. I am exhausted and never expected to be spending hours of my time educating myself about all of this, so I can be prepared to navigate the mine field for us as parents and for my child. I have zero trust in any child psychologist now, the few who are regarded as none affirming, are swamped by this pandemic. Thank you to so many educators, including the allied voices I have discovered in the LGB community ... which has clearly been hijacked by the trans right. This whole thing is the OPPOSITE of inclusive it's cultish fascism. Thank you to James, to Helen Joyce, to Kathleen Stock and so many more not springing to mind who have helped resolve the madness in my head, to make me better prepared to protect my child. I feel so sorry for parents who have been suckered into this and made proxy affirmers by the cult. There's going to be a shit storm of reckoning in the next decade or two.

sounds like governing bodies have gone rogue when it comes to the transgender issue - shut anyone down who questions. Mr Esses stance that at least explorative therapy be safeguarded rather than bundled in as conversion therapy is professional and reasonable. I'm wondering about the qualifications of people on these boards. To treat Mr Esses they way they have is highly suspicious and I hope this is made widely public and that he has support within the profession. I would have thought he has avenues to pursue about his treatment, but he might like to consider moving to Australia or New Zealand. Their council of psychiatry has called for a halt on affirmation as the standard "treatment". I wish him more than luck. I wish him to have some genuine support because what happened to him personally and what this represents in the community terrifies me.

For a ‘therapist’ I have never heard James once use the word empathy or compassion. He talks like a daily mail columnist, using hyperbolic language to inflame the conversation. Also it’s worth noting James was never a qualified therapist.
