@@Gingerblaze some are gender non-conforming who may in fact be heterosexual (we’re usually talking early teens here, so these are children entering puberty and who have an emerging sexuality; pre-puberty, children do not have a sexuality). Many of these youngsters who may be gender-nonconforming are also gay, and dealing with emerging same sex attraction. Their confusion with this and internalised homophobia leads them to decide they’d rather be a straight boy than a gay girl… and they trans the gay away.

@@MrYodin I think we can all agree on not voting for Labour. What all parties (except the mainstream ones. They can die in a fire) need to do, is go back to the old methods; tour towns and cities, make impassioned speeches, hand out flyers. The Internet, for all that it has become, is too controlled, and cannot be relied upon. More than that, simply telling people what you’re going to do will only make them think you’re going to do the exact opposite; after all, it’s what the mainstream parties have been doing for years. You need to ask the people, make them think, what sort of future do they want, then make them believe you can deliver that future. After all, how else could a mad man like Hitler not only rise to power, but then abolish democracy, and receive only the slightest resistance from such a move, if not because the German people believed he would deliver them into a bright and glorious future?

People in all walks of life, including medical and politicians, need to remember what it was like for them hitting puberty, or even learning that you soon would, I was horrified at the thought of bleeding, of breasts, of sex, of child birth, I remember when I first started developing putting huge nappy pin in the back of my vest to try and flatten my breasts. On the other hand a friend at school could not wait to grow breasts. My own son was horrified at growing hair under his arms and on his legs. Part of growing up is feeling uncomfortable with your body, being frightened of the responsibilities of adulthood, however, the majority of us do get through it and come out of the other side well balanced adults. Some continue to feel they are in the wrong body but they need to wait till they get a bit older and see how they feel once that transition to adulthood has taken place, otherwise the regret is forever.

Isn't this all just a rather silly distraction from what's important for the country economically? We need a highly skilled work-force. Education from Junior School upwards should focus on STEM. Doctors who perform sex change surgery should not be allowed to perform any sex changing procedure until the person requesting it is aged 19yrs of age, plus.Those persons requesting such procedures should be given at least one year of sessions with a psychiatrist to determine how serious they are.Then at least 18 months living and working as their desired sex change, then they should pass these tests fully before any medical procedures are undertaken. You're not defining the differences between classical liberalism and the "liberal" in the American sense, which means left fascism. It is about private property rights, freedom to criticise the government, the right to bear arms and protect your property from government intrusion and the right to keep the fruits of your labour and exchange goods and services on the market freely without government interference.
