I feel/felt really sorry for Merlin and Morgana: they had such great chemistry and a great friendship that showed signs that they could have, potentially, become more given time...and then they ended up becoming broken shells of the people they once were as time went on: in Morgana's case she became hateful and full of both anger and revenge that ended up getting her most trusted allies/her allies in general like Morgouse and Mordred, and even herself killed at the end. And in Merlin's case: he ended up becoming more harsher, he lost all of his friends through death or his own actions, and in the end he couldn't save anyone he cared about like Arthur or Morgana and became an emotional wreck and was forced to live for god knows how long to wait for Arthur to return whilst the rest of his friends died when he wasn't around. To be honest, I think the only one who "won" in the end from the tragedies in Merlin and Morgana's tragedies was The Great Dragon, nobody else. That's my opinion anyway, you don't have to agree.

Danielle M Hall he didn’t really manipulate anyone. If Merlin followed Kilgarrah’s advice every time he wanted to make a stupid decision, Arthur would have lived. He told Merlin to let Mordred be killed when he was a boy even though he warned him he’ll kill Arthur but he saved him anyway and there was also the time when evil Morgana was almost dead and Merlin couldn’t bear everyone’s grief so he told Kilgarrah he wants his help to save her but Kilgarrah warned him not to and told Merlin he will bear the consequences of his actions. So really, it’s all on Merlin. He made some really stupid decisions, sadly.

I kind of wish they'd explored their relationship a bit more, like if they were actually falling for one another, with him being a servant... and then he has to poison her. I feel like it would've made it so much worse and given the storyline a bit more flavor, too.

I love the complexity of their relationship in the show... even though everything goes horribly wrong, their chemistry together is still so electric from beginning to end. You've done a FANTASTIC job capturing everything that makes them so tragically wonderful and dynamic. Beautiful song choice. Beautiful EVERYTHING.

I can’t help but think it would’ve made a HUGE impact if Merlin would’ve told Morgana that he had magic sooner. Because she sort the wrong kind of magical people for comfort when she had Merlin right under her nose, a good role model and someone to keep her grounded. No matter how twisted she became she’s still one of my favourite characters

Yup, the message was "fear is a self fulfilling prophecy". Mordred and Morgana did exactly as Merlin feared because he treated them like villains long before they had done anything wrong. Morgana's determination to destroy Emrys is ultimately what killed her

You know this show isn’t related to Star Wars at all but Morgana embodies something Master Yoda once said. “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, Hate leads to suffering”. Morgana has so much fear ever since season one. That led to her being anger at Uther. Which eventually became a roaring Hatred that consumed her till that’s all she could feel all see around her and it caused her suffering and she made others suffer for it. She, is the perfect embodiment of what master Yoda once said about the path to the dark side.

I only just started to watch Merlin and i finished the whole series just over a week ago and this video is amazing it brings back the feel especially at 0:16 with Morgana in season 5 and then you use black and white clips from season 1 its honestly so heartbreaking what she went through and i love her so much

I still believed that Morgana wasn't really the evil that she become. She just felt alone. she felt misunderstood. she felt cursed, confused and she was afraid. Merlin could've saved her, only if he told Morgana about the magic that they share in common. she just needed someone she knows would understand. Merlin did anyway, and morgana should've known that. Now, this is a story, I could really call a "tragedy".

OMG I actually screamed when I saw a Mergana vid in my sub box and then to see that it’s for ME, edited by one of my favorite vidders EVER…ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Not only that but you edited THIS SONG…actual 3 minutes of Mergana with an NF song …I may cry, thank you so much for taking the time :) Also I adore the coloring, very pretty. I loved all the quotes and parallels, how you showed that they both sort of lost their way, that it wasn’t just Morgana that changed…and the editing was perfect, I dunno what you’re talking about, the atmosphere you created was just beautiful and heartbreaking…sorry if it made you emotional, I just ship the most tragic ships I know heh but there was so much left unsaid with these tow and so much potential that they inspire me to vid even 5 yrs since Merlin ended (has it really been THAT long?! Wow... that was incredible. I initially had a hard time getting into this show because it felt so different from the myths and legends I had read. Then I grew to enjoy the difference and excited to see where they would take it next. I think that not having Merlin tell Morgana that he has magic in the episode where she finds out she has magic was a poor story choice. Yes, it worked for taking the story down the same sad road as the original myths. But as the show went on I had hoped of seeing a story that deviated from that. Oh well, just chalk it up to another story that broke my heart.

Glad that you let the ending scene (him killing her) overlap with him poisoning her, in both scenes the position their in is soo similar. Also I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that Katie and Colin (Morgana and Merlin’s actors) actually advocated to recreate the poisoning scene for the end.
