The most beautiful aspect of these lush green paddy field agricultural land scape is that, water required for agricultural purposes is lake fed throughout the year. It seems mostly they have three harvests a year. @@indradevabhakt6244 agreed, the same way the humans tool over forests to build modern agricultural land during chola times, today's world needs these agricultural land to converted to an airport. the idea that somehow farmlands are natural is misleading. Pannur, Thiruporur all were rejected by AAI and DGCA because of of obstructions. This is the only land that's feasible for the govt without making the state bankrupt. If govt we're to acquire land any near, govt would go bankrupt, if they go any further, the airport would go bankrupt.

Chennai Airport already has huge deficiency in cargo infra. We're losing to Bangalore and Hyderabad. Chennai used to be number one in South India, now it's in number three, in air traffic, simply because govt hasn't upgraded the airport yet. The current airport is impossible to expand any further. It's do or die from the state and the city, so yeah, this might get delayed if there's continued protests, but I believe govt is ready to shell out thousands of crs to get this done.

Central govt has openly said in parliament that they are ok with pannur, or thiruporur or parandhur,..they just need the land acquisition to be done by the state...so the narrative that Parandhur alone is fit is far-fetched and poorly cooked up story. The very reason the state govt is standing on one leg to implement the airport project in parandhur is because... 2 - 3 top cabinet ministers from the State govt have acquired huge parcels of land in parandhur and are in the process to get more from farmers (by way of muscle power and threat) so that they can sell it back to the State govt for 10X price to make a killing out of Farmers blood. There is nothing that doesn't have an alternative, especially an airport project...infact with 3 big lakes in Parandhur would be the most unfit for the airport project,.. because building a tarmac and airport facilities on the natural water body will be a serious problem during monsoon and water draining facility for the entire project will only add up to the over all cost of the airport land acquisition. At any cost Parandhur should never be allowed for airport project..and must be allowed to remain a fertile agri land because this is an agricultural nation and our economy is bent more on agriculture than Manufacturing, Services or any other industry put together. No one says no to airport,..but land sharks and favouritism doing a deep dive into this project ia a concern.Let an alternative be formulated and a feasibility study be done which has minimal impact to people ans their livelihood,..then airports are most welcome..👍☺☝
