missing a last part of the story , cause once you finish the game in new game + you unlock the tower which you have to fight throught 77 floors , once on top this happen (from the wiki) : The boss in the last floor of the building floor 77 is the true final boss of the game and it has the form of Aya Brea's deceased sister, Maya. Aya fighting Truebred Eve. The final boss explains to Aya that Dr. Hans Klamp cultivated the cells of the original Eve to analyze. When Melissa Pearce was giving birth to the Ultimate Being, she created a nest there. In case Melissa and the Utimate Being failed, the purebred would still remain. Aya speaks with her sister, and they engage in battle against the purebred. The purebred has taken Aya's Liberate form and can use attacks similar to Aya and more. After the purebred is defeated, the mitochondria inside Aya begin to rebel against her. The explanation is that Aya's mitochondria have now reached a higher evolutionary stage than Maya's, but Maya's personality has suddenly become dominant and begun to fight off the Eve persona. Maya eventually wins, purging the Eve persona from herself and protects Aya by preventing the original Eve from taking over her. Aya leaves the building by herself, although she apparently has gained some sort of connection with her dead sister. Maya's body is not physically present in either scenario, only Eve is. What actually happens is arguable due to the scene's lack of camera angles for certain characters.

Heya ... Elderly Canadian gamer here. Just thought I'd mention that familiarity with the term ESP might be a generational thing. I'm over 50, and ESP, standing for "extrasensory perception" was an EXTREMELY common term a few decades ago, as a stand-in for a wide variery of "psychic phenomena". (At least, it was common in North America.) I probably learned it as a child reading my mother's supermarket tabloids, and back then you could use the abbreviation freely in conversation, and people would know exactly what you were talking about. It's true, though, that I haven't heard it mentioned in quite a while. Keep up the good work! Came at the same time with RE2 Technologically, its inferior than RE2 (fully voiced scenes & faster action game) but its what square can do & they already establish relationship with enterbrain, enix division of book publishing that has rights for parasite eve Its about something 1997-2000 squaresoft, they got big through FF7 & alot of experimental using FF7 ideas to make 10 of new games in 2 year gap
@TheRelaxRehab3 жыл бұрын
@@somechinesedude5466 I wouldn't say Inferior, sense RE2 was a full horror action and Parasite Eve was a Action RPG horror with both having a difference of the pacing and the way of telling the story in the game. The action rpg is going to have moments of high actions, during the combat and moments you feel like you can breath ( upgrade your gear, ect), and you can see growth in your character. while RE2 was more about keep moving sense you was always being chased and your never stronger then what weapon you currently have, PE main story telling was through the videos, and RE2 was through a bit of both videos and some collectibles( items in game, news paper, books, ect.) The reason why I said it a love child is because when you play PE, you get the classic battle style of rpg, where the enemy spawns in, you have a hp that grows as you lvl. but everything looks and feels like it almost belongs to the more horror of RE style of that time frame, and even upgrade your gear to do more damage and unlike most rpg at that time, you wasn't limited to "okay, I hit you, then you hit me" type of turn base battle, you could run around and evade, and your weapon cool down was you reloading while in combat, making the fight more seamless while in RE2 you just get weapons that does x, y, and z damage with no growth and maybe some body armor so you can take an extra hit without dying.( yes one could argue finding different ammo types but they still only do x amount of damage as long as you have them) and you had to bring up a menu in order to reload your gun. While I could not find the exact engine P.E. ran on, I can say having plaid both that they are both good games for different reasons, neither being Inferior to the other. sense they both had hardware limitations at the time and timing of their release and the market in which they was released in. here in the US, PE did not do very well, sense the book it's based on wasn't really heard of in the US and RE2 had already had a good foot hold of the NA Game market at that time with the Release of RE1. sense they came out that same year and around the same, and developers trying to cash in with the new area that the PS1 was building up. trying new things in the game and really explore the idea of 3D games. long story short, both games are great for their era, both games was rush to be put out for their reasons. And Square was big before FF7, releasing several great games before FF7, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Square_video_games, There is a list of many games and lots of them still, It only feels like Square got big because of FF7 was due to the fact the internet was becoming more of thing that everyone can use, and sense the google search engine itself was launched the same year 1998, and information was becoming so much easier to get.

There's something special about video games, especially Japanese ones, where the writer(s) of the game bases the whole plot on something real that they don't have the faintest understanding of. And then the effect is multiplied when the person expleening the synopsis is just as lost as the writer obviously was.
@grailw92213 жыл бұрын
yeah mitochondria are technically separate from the body. but that does not mean they have the capacity, to become a independent thinking creature. it's the same as saying that magic stems from the brain. like you can not just manifest fireballs out of thin air, because you thought about them. but you know sci fi writers just ignore that part. because any other explanation would be less "scientific" and be too "fantastical". despite making 100% more sense then having a big brain.
@7_Cell2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Hideki Sena, who wrote Parasite Eve, the novel, is a pharmacologist. There's nothing wrong with basing fantasy on something real. They expect audiences are educated enough to pick up on what is real and what's not and enjoy it. Neither the novel or the game is here to educate anyone on mitochondria. There is enough documentation on that if people are so inclined.

It's like how science-fiction tends to use buzzwords like "positronic" or "quantum" to make the cool plot device seem legit. Except the Japanese has a way of doing that with just about anything and going way overboard with it without really caring how much sense it makes, and it's strangely endearing. "Yeah, viruses can turn you into nigh-unkillable monsters with super powers, sure. Special mitochondria gives you psychic powers, why not? Also, nanomachines are _literally magic."_

Yes, mitochondria are in fact a separate cell that was absorbed by a larger cell, but they ended up building a symbiotic relationship. Our Mitochondria have their own unique DNA separate from the host, it was actually this adaptation that is likely what allowed larger, more complex organisms to evolve in the first place, because the mitochondria acts as the power house to allow for the operations of larger organs and thus organisms. The idea of a mitochondria eve is much less accepted as an idea, and if it were, it wouldn't have been human, since it would be the first of any species who has mitochondria, not just humans.

8:55 Yes it's true. It's believed that the mitochondria is the evolutionary remains of a single celled organism from a stupidly long time ago. The organism was "taken in" by another bigger organism and instead of digesting the smaller lad, they just co-existed. And thus, the mitochondria's ancestor came to be

Mitochondria do indeed have their own genetic code. Among other observed evidence, this suggests that mitochondria were originally other single-celled organisms which entered an early single-celled ancestor what would eventually evolve into animals, plants, and other eukaryotic organisms. There is a bunch of other interesting stuff, which the story of Parasite Eve picks up on, which involves facts about mitochondria. For example, mitochondria have offloaded a bunch of genes essential to their survival onto the genome of the cell they are inhabiting. Mitochondria are basically enslaved by the host-cell, because of this gene "hijacking" (Enslavement is actually how the relevant literature calls it). Also, about the heat thing: This actually ties in with being " the powerhouse of the cell". Mitochondria creates ATP, which is a compound with a chain of three phosphates, which acts as a sort of energy-shuttle for cell-processes. the bonds between the the last two phosphates is very energy-rich and removing the third phosphate generates a lot of energy. 30 kJ per molecule of ATP. Also, the fact that human cells contain hundreds of mitochondria is not quite the truth. certain cells, like livercells, contain up to 2000, apparently. But red bloodcells, for example, do not have any.

Yea mitochondria dont have your dna they have circulair dna. The reason we even have mitochronia in our body is because in the time where there werent even animals and you had basically had just cells chilling in the ocea, you had some cells that would litteraly just go go power ranger and combine. For example lets look at Chloroplasts ( they are the organells(organells are the organs you find in a cell) in plants that do the photosynthesis thingy, they also have circulair dna instead of the plants dna) cell A(a cell that would evolve into plants) would eat a smaller cell B(this cells would evolve into chloroplasts) so normally when Cell A eats Cell B, Cell B would be "digested" but for some reason Cell B didnt get digested this time and was just chilling in Cell B. But here comes the neat thing: Cell B really only needs sunlight and some other materials to stay alive while it shits out stuff cell A needs to live, and Cell A shits out the other materials B needs to live which creates a symbiotic relationship where Cell B stays protected from bigger Cells while Cell A literally gets free energy. this relationship creates a build where one just need to chill at the surface of the ocean and youre golden. this build evolved into plants where chloroplasts take sunlight and some other shit to create ATP(ATP is the universal energy form every living thing uses) then animals came along with mitochrondia AND digestrive tracts that they use to take plants and turn them into chemical energy(sugars) which the chlorplats in turn turn into ATP, and then animals came along AGAIN with the same mitochondria but this time a digestive system that can turn ANIMAL matter into chemical energy for the mitochondria resulting in the first anime betrayal on earth. also important thing to after years of evolution they have lost their independence and so they are bassically just glorrified ovens (they do other stuff too tho) so eves mitochondria wouldnt be able to just up and do a drive by on ayas cells. its a rule in evolution that you cant really create dna bc you know evolution happens by natural selection and it kind of does the opposite of creating, so its really unlikely youd evolutionize an entire cell out of a organell. what might be possible would be combining dna and cells in a lab with a very small prod(idc whats it called) but at that point why make it about the mitochondria like get grandpa out of the spotlight. btw this is just the stuff i remember from highschool biology so there might be some small mistakes but this should give you a rough idea of the theory on how mitochondria came to be
