@@UCannotDefeatMyShmeat I had a parent who was simultaneously strict and not. I grew up most my life with my mom and two younger sisters. She was understandably busy often so we all learned how to take care of ourselves early on. When she was around she was pretty strict about things like our rooms and the home in general. Whenever she got home there was essentially a house inspection just to see if we didn’t destroy the house. My dad on the other hand was very easygoing and when we visited him and stayed with him we had more freedom to do whatever. His personal flaw was that he was also a disorganized and forgetful man. We all took different lessons from that growing up but we all became more independent people. I’m a miser when it comes money because I’ve determined to never struggle with my personal finances like either of them, I’ll get things done but at my own pace and I don’t get mad anymore, I get frustrated at best. Apparently that last one is my best quality because everyone says that I’m a very patient person.

Remember it's not parasocial if both sides know and can easily remember each other's real names, faces and have semi regular personal contact. The word for that is acquaintance. Parasocial is when one of those two sides, knows nothing of the other beyond them being the audience. Just cause I've seen people call the people the VC with every night for years parasocial, or sometimes even people they know in offline spaces but aren't super close with and that's not what that means.

In Norway we also have those gross disease pictures and "Smoking kills" messages on cigerette packs, but the dead babies ones clearly never made it over here. But from the sound of it, those should be the only ones they do because they were obviously the most effective. Surely the end goal is that everyone stops smoking since it doesn't just apply toxic to yourself, but it has an AoE and create a lingering toxic fume if used inside the house/car/etc.
@Americanbadashh7 ай бұрын
Covid has a similar AOE to smoking, but with a higher likelihood it procs damage but people still go around unmasked so I'm not surprised anti-smoking ads have mixed effectiveness.
