@SYLVESTER-6782its an irrational desire to be acknowledged and loved the same way her sister is. even tho logically she understands that her parents arent capable of treating her the same, emotionally shes thinking “but im their daughter, dont they love me? i bet if i justify myself enough theyll take my side eventually!” its a desire to finally be chosen after years of rejection. the human brain works in weird contradictory ways and because of the family dynamic shes been conditioned to search and yearn for fairness that isnt there. its sad, usually takes a big event like this for reality to truly sink in and even then it also takes some time for it to fully process into ur emotional responses

My older brother was always our parents’ favorite. They didn’t even try to hide it. Hell, its been over 20 years of no contact with my father or brother and she’ll still act like it. Like she’ll buy fig newtons for me “because they are your (my) favorite” it pisses me off every time having to remind her I’ve always hated them and they were his favorite. Or tell me i watch h his favorite movies or shows… yeah, because the show came out 10 years after the last time she saw him. Nothing can be my favorite without it being his first, regardless when it came out. I can’t even watch stuff and laugh because she’ll tell me i have “his” laugh, not that we laugh similar, but as if i purposely tried to laugh like him as a kid and still do it, and she likes “hearing his laugh again”. Sucks living up to a favorite child that removed themselves from the family a long time ago… i was 16 the last time i saw him, 41 now, and can’t escape his shadow.

Thats the thing, it ISN'T understandable. I was the least favorite (read: scapegoat of a narcissistic family that told me they actively wanted me to unalive myself) and I'm to this day (been out of there for 6 years almost) still struggling with my childhood. You can't understand it because there isn't anything to understand. You cant apply logic to this because it isn't logical. It took me many many many years to figure out that I will NEVER understand, but i dont want to anymore. Youll only understand it if you're like them, which you aren't, hence the treatment. Ive always wanted to fit in wirh my family, but with them accepting me for me. But that's not a possibility, I'd have to be the same to fit in, and I refuse to be like them 🤷‍♀️

I can see some redemption for Vicky because she was just a kid, and considering her own parents were validating her the entire time I can see why she turned out like that. Its very possible for spoiled brats to turn their lives around when they actually grow up. I cant say the same for the parents though who were fully mature adults who should have known better, and from what we know of the grandparents were almost certainly raised better too.
@nottotallytara6775

@@conormac6293 It's possible for Vicky that she met people in the real world that wouldn't take her shit and called her out on it. Same thing happened to an ex-friend. She was entitled and spoiled and was always certain she was right, and we had to keep telling her no, you don't get to police conversations to fit your desires, no, you don't get to disrespect us by lecturing us and treating us like we're dumb, no, we don't have to regulate your impulses for you you've actually gotta learn to do that yourself like the rest of us, no, you can't use the excuse that you have autism/adhd and chronic illness for bad behavior so you're not to blame, and so much more. She had to hit rock bottom and basically lose everyone to realize that she couldn't keep acting that way. Now she's doing better and two of the four of us have befriended her again, but me and our other friend were the ones that had that last argument with her and we're both done. So I agree that Vicky might've hit some kind of rock bottom and saw the light, but I wouldn't talk to her either, just like I still don't talk to that ex-friend.

Actually it is not a stretch for CPS to be called when a child shows up in the emergency room. I had two children that played rough. Any time they ended up in the emergency room a CPS representative showed up. Once the child was confirmed to not be in danger, the parent in the room was told to leave. Talk about confusing a hurt and scared child. Only one parent is allowed in the emergency room for a minor. So suddenly some unknown adult is asking questions about the injury and asking leading questions. No, CSP being called is not a stretch. We later learned that there is a CPS employee hanging out in emergency rooms all the time. Must have been a slow night for this woman. She interviewed my child for almost an hour. All my child wanted was Mom and to go home.

They only wanted the sister at the wedding because the sister wanted it. They didn't care about the bride. They clearly think their younger daughter is the only one that matters. It's really sick and I'm sorry she has to go through that. Thank goodness she has grandparents who love her

Yeah I pushed my sister while racing and she ended up needing stitches and CPS was not called. The nurse did talk to us alone under the guise of watching me because I was upset. She asked me questions about what happened that I thought was just her being nice but as an adult was her trying to see if my mom's story was true. I said we were running in the house while my mom made us a pizza and I didn't want her to win so I pushed her and I didn't mean for her to get hurt and that I felt really bad and even cried that I was sorry. That was enough. She let me pick stickers for me and my sister. 😂

I never understand how parents, or at least one of their parents, can be so awful while the grandparents are awesome. Like, what happened to their son/daughter that made them think “I should be an asshole parent when I have kids” 😐

I find it funny because like the daughter was shown to be a bad person in even sent her sister to the hospital but the parents like no shoes are Golden Goose with stuff like this I truly believe that parents don't have a favorite child they just think will we put over love into this one so we might as well stand by your piece of shit

Truthfully, I would’ve responded to Vicky that what she’s done over the years was too little too late. She should’ve thought about all of this over the years and it’s too late to make amends. And also considering her penchant for lying, I wouldn’t believe anything that comes out of her.

notice how it was vicky’s parents pleading op not to call cps and then begged her to let vicky come to the wedding among other things? and then notice how it’s vicky begging op to not cut their parents out of her life? it’s like they only beg op.. if someone else does it for them! red flag.

OP, DO NOT TRUST YOUR SPOILED ENTITLED SISTER! All she wants is for you to RELAX, INVITE her into your home to TRY TO GET NEXT TO YOUR HUSBAND TO BREAK UP YOUR MARRIAGE! After scheduling her homecoming party on your wedding day, NO WAY has she finally had a change of heart! Your sister is one evil nasty jealous being & will never change, this was proven by her party, still making your parents PROVE WHO THEY CARED ABOUT THE MOST!

I think I read the most recient update, and it turns out the sister did not write that email, but one of her parents did (I think the mom), trying to persuade OP to forgive them. OP discovered it after meeting her sister somewhere on the streets, OP mentioned the email and she angrily told her she did not write it xd

I would have up the petty factor and posted pictures of you with your grandparents. Saying something like how they were there for you and how happy you were to have them walk you down the aisle. Also your bridesmaids calling them “sisters of the heart “. Maybe some videos of them and other family members giving toasts on you behalf.

She owes you apologies but you dont owe her your forgiveness. Just because someone says sorry that doesn't mean that you should forgive them. It should be completely your decision when your want to forgive them and if not..then simply dont. Then there is no harm in walking away. People who were with you during your tough times doesn't deserve to he with you during your happier times. The relationships that doesn't bring you mental peace and comfort is not worth a cent or a minute of your time.

As someone who has been physically attacked by family, I don't think it meant the threshold to involve the cops/cps. It is better to use it to prove your point and confront your family with who is the really issue. If it happens again call them after that. All of how you handled it is acceptable but I think a scenario existed that was better for you and them.
