The mother is a fool and will one day realize the error of her ways and what she has callously thrown away. The father saw what he was about to lose and jumped into action to salvage what he could and now he has a stronger bond with the majority of his children. The father has all his children in his life while the mother only has two ( Lexie is too young to decide to go NC).

Tbh the mother sounds like narc. There is no way in hell that she admits her wrongdoings (unless she is forced to do it). Erin is just carbon copy narc. Both women found enabling partners. Good for OP's dad that he finally got rid of the mist that clouded his eyes and that he even grew some spine.

I’m so glad their dad actually listened to them and used his brain to see the truth. I think part of why OP’s mom is so adamant on villanizing her other children is that she refuses to admit that she was wrong. If she had half a brain and actually did love her children even just a little bit, she’d know, deep down, that what she did was wrong. Unfortunately, she decided to act like a bratty 5 y.o. instead of an adult.

I have 8 siblings (6 brothers and im the youngest and a female). This is a Disney show in comparison to the hell I grew up in lol Honestly this man is SO LUCKY I'm No contact with my entire family. Main reason is because they bullied my sister into her own self-unaliving. Literally egging her on to and then kicking her out of the family home when she had nowhere to go and was struggling mentally. Telling your own sister to stop existing and that you wouldn't miss her. They've said the same to me. I still struggle to come to terms with the fact that an arsenal of people let her and i down growing up. Makes it hard to trust anyone.

And as soon as a “miracle” child comes in they don’t care about the others and push them aside and give the world to the “miracle child”. It’s sickening… Hey I was a premature child too and shit happened- but my mom didn’t spoil me or anything just treated me like a regular child- Really hate on how when stuff like this happens the siblings are always the ones that suffer the most cuz their parents don’t want to take responsibility for their actions and blame them for it. This reminds me of two stories where the parents kept letting the golden sibling steal OP's birthdays... parents who choose favorites are the worst. Kudos to that dad for realizing how wrong he was and trying to make things right while he still can. As for the mother and Erin, they can be alone in their narcissistic bubble for the rest of their lives.

I think I remember that one is it the one where the family finally stood up for OP and the sister went to boarding school, was kicked out then all put in a ward or a different one?
@DarkEinherjar7 ай бұрын
@@itsjustmaddisen One of them was that one. The other was about OP's parents letting his younger brother blow out his candles up and showing extreme favoritism until OP's 13th birthday, when he put his foot down and an aunt supported him. The brother threw a tantrum and almost ruined the party. Then, the following, year, the parents canceled OP's birthday party to prevent the brother from having another tantrum, and grounded him when he complained about it at school. OP then complained online and the entire neighborhood shunned the parents, to the point that they made a last-minute surprise party for OP the following day to save face. The mother even have to take the brother away to prevent him from having a tantrum. When OP moved out at 18, the parents finally had to deal with the monster they created: the brother, now 14, destroyed the house in a fit of rage when he was denied a PS5. The parents now want to send him to military school, but don't have the money to do so. There's even a sequel story to that one, about how the brother ruined two birthday parties of other kids, resulting in him and the parents being banned from birthday parties all over the neighborhood.

There’s been an update: everyone (including the golden child) cut off the mom. Golden child got an ultimatum from her husband: cut contact or get divorced. She chose the first option. The parents are officially divorced, and the siblings only see their youngest sister when dad has her for the week. OP got engaged, mom found out, and tried to force her way back in. The official position of the siblings is that she has to admit that she is a bad parent and go to therapy for a while before they agree to even consider talking to her.

Chances are the end result of this is semi permanent estrangement and divorce. Even the GC is getting concerned with the mothers delusions, and if she does change that change is likely to unravel the moment she gets what she wants. That's an unfortunate aspect in relationships [ like any, not just love ] , that change is motivated by the lack of something and very little commit to change if they get the desire back and feel comfortable again. The moment the mother made the claim that Erin was a miracle baby, was the true moment the deal was sealed. It demonstrated that in her mind the child deserves to always be on a pedestal because of that sole event. That's at 20+ years of cementing in this mental state, and its unlikely its going to break in the following years. Judging by the updates OP Gave, its more likely that it may never break until she has nothing left, but by that point, the damage is done to those around her.
