I actually used to like sonic R a lot, i was very surprised when i got online and saw people hating it( i mean i was young when i played it so that could be nostalgia but whatever)

The biggest problem with Sonic R is the short length of it. But what there is, while not being worth much for competitive play, is a really fun time. And the 90s Eurodance music playing the whole time just makes the experience better :) For Sonic Labyrinth, I never played it that much personally, not out of disliking it, I just never played my copy of Sonic Gems Collection that much, and when I did it was usually to play other games on it. Your review makes me want to give it another shot. I always enjoy hearing a kind word given to a disliked game.

I've always really loved Sonic R. The polygonal look is beyond charming and the controls legit make it incredibly fun, especially playing as tails.

The pc version of sonic r you were playing looks considerably faster than the original Sega Saturn version I own. Also I %100 agree that sonic labyrinth is a good game because I recently bought it for my game gear.

As a kid I bought Sonic R to play on my pc because I couldn't get a Dreamcast and Adventure, and I played it to death. It may control like crap and have barely any content, but the music is good and the game will always have a place in my cold dead heart

For several years as a kid, the only Sonic game I had was Mega Collection Plus. My favorite games were 3D Blast and Labyrinth, not counting S1-3, obviously. Very surprised to hear anyone else on the planet (aside from myself) likes the latter, let alone publicly announcing it in a KZbin video.

I'd like to see someone make a 2D Sonic fan game with traditional Sonic physics where you can't jump and are really slow on foot, so the only way to get anywhere at a good speed is rolling and the spin dash. That could lead to some very interesting and unique level design and gameplay. Every level could be like, a downward slope that still contains the multi tiered path structure. Instead of a pinball platformer, it could be something like, a billiards platformer

the reason sonix r is so short is because of time restraints. They get under 1 year to develop it, I guess they couldnt just do it and keep the same quailty.

I think i still have some of the muscle memory or visual memory of these track layouts. It's a fun game. I thought the character design was good. I remember vaguely doing just silly stuff with the slower characters to try to find a way to cheese pvp lol.
