Fun fact: The lucky hedgehog trophy can be easily cheesed if you're playing as knuckles. Because when the slots are done rolling, you have a brief window in which you can glide and hit the hitbox of the slot and redo it again.

I still vividly remember how fun it was to find the secret angel statue in Sonic CD’s Wacky Workbench which requires massive exploration and far off the beaten path

If you want a difficult sonic trophy list, try sonic adventure, I just got all the trophies for it today and it was one of the most tedious trophy lists I’ve ever done (if you ever consider doing it make sure to get the trophy for getting all the emblems in the adventure field first because it can glitch and mess up your whole save causing you to have to replay the whole game later on) Great video btw

@@MarioMastar FOR REAL LMFAO I thought it would be after a failed/completed attempt but no it's literally just right after opening the thing. The achievements are so weird in this game because they're not even lazy. It takes no more effort to make it "complete boss rush" or "S rank all missions" rather than the easy substitutes. They actively went out of their way to make the achievements incredibly easy

10:14 Okay, so the "new music" was actually written back in 93/94, before Sega secured their MJ deal, and there's a leaked prototype of Sonic 3 where the tracks sound a lot better, but for SOME reason, for this remake specifically, Jun Senoue re-did all the instrumentation from scratch. funny thing about mission mode, you can replay the same mission in all titles 10 times to get the s-rank, you can use the debug menu to get the rings, enemies, chaos emeralds, super sonic, and clearing sonic 1 thru 3 by going to the final bosses. the only legit trophies are the ones from sonic cd. this is a pretty easy platinum.

In Sonic 3 the earliest possible point you can unlock Super Sonic is by Hydro City Act 2 because there are two Special Stage rings per act, so you can get the first 4 Emerlds from Angel Island & the last 3 in Hydro City

Yeah, I don’t care what SEGA says, Hyper Sonic and the Super Emeralds are canon. Mania made that pretty clear. (Also, I don’t care what anyone says, this is easily my favorite Sonic collection, one of my favorite collections ever, and easily the best official way to play the original four games as well as the best way to play them on consoles imo)

Thanks for the video, Master Trainer Gaming! You weren't kidding with the the lack of difficulty in obtaining the platinum for this game. Not wanting to make things too hard or unfair for the player is one thing, but going in the opposite direction and making this too easy just gives one a lackluster feeling. By the way, I have a question for you and some advice on avoiding being permanently locked out of an online only achievement. 1 What’s you’re progress on getting an Xbox 360, Sonic 06, and all of its DLC since the Xbox 360 gaming store is shutting down on July 29, 2024? If you’re really pressed for time and resources, you can just focus on getting an Xbox 360 console and using that that to get Sonic 06’s DLC and getting the actual game sometime later. Achievements should still work even after the shut down unless it has some sort of online requirement, but all of Sonic 06’s achievements don’t require that. 2 I also just realized that there is another game exclusive for the Xbox 360 that also has one online only achievement. It’s Sonic Free Riders, and it requires a Kinect. Thankfully, it’s only one and it’s called Debut License and it involves uploading a record to the leaderboards. I’m going to recommend doing something unprecedented for you. Get Sonic Free Riders and all the other equipment you need to play and record it, complete the requirements for the Debut License achievement, and then save everything else about the game for some other time. This way, you can still make a video about you getting all the achievements some day. I normally wouldn’t recommend doing something like this, but I would hate for you to be permanently locked out of getting all the achievements on something that you could have made for a video.

Yeah, I completely agree, its way too far in the easy direction. I might make a follow up video about what would have made this a satisfying platinum trophy run. In regards to your other two questions, I'm happy to let you know that I've already begun preparations specifically for these two games because of the store shutting down. Luckily the servers for Free Riders will remain up after July from what we know, so its not super, super pressing yet. But I'm working on getting the DLC for Sonic 06 just in case now (despite it not being locked to any achievements).

Personally I think the original Sonic 3 music felt out of place, but so did origins's. That's why I prefer the ROM hack Sonic 3 Complete's versions of the music. They use the Genesis soundfont so it doesn't sound out of place.

For something like this I'd just tell myself to 100% the game instead of just getting the platinum. Beating every mission, get everything in the shop and so on. If you go into the game aiming to complete it fully instead of just wanting the platinum youll be less disappointet i feel like.

So... fact. I one hundred percented origins. ....except sonic 2. The death egg robot is _twice_ as jank in 60 fps. The exhaust actively drove me nuts to the point i pulled the super box out of debug mode. I hated doing that, but i had nothing to prove I collected all the emeralds legit so... Edit: so slightly odd retort about cd's trophy list. The mobile achievements and 360 versions absolutely are better in literally every way. There's one tied to beating any act in under a minute, There's one tied to getting a shield before meeting amy, there's two for getting the time stones and the good futures _and_ one for getting both at the same time and finally there's one for enabling level select *as tails in the Japanese soundtrack loading up metallic madness act 2 good future* ...it's literally called back to the future part 2; How do you screw up an achievement list THIS HARD

Just so you know, hyper sonic IS CANON. But the super emeralds(as of now) are in a other dimension, thats why sonic cant transform into hyper sonic(you could see the super emeralds with no colour in sonic mania lava reef act 2 knuckels part)

Btw, Sonic 1 2 and CD have trophies but were delisted. If you have a modded ps3, I can teach you were to get those games and still unlock the trophies for them.

Alternate title: "Sonic Origins Was a MASSIVE Disappointment!" Yeah, I know. Dead joke. But I just can't let go of dead jokes sometimes, I always gravitate to overused memes for some reason. It's also kinda true, this achivement list would likely have been more substancial if Sega just put more resources, time and thought into this collection than they did. The collection is lacking in many ways and that the already too tiny amount of challenge over here can easily be cheesed(as pointed out by another comment) is just another layer to it. This release always finding new ways to be kinda dire somehow. 2:45 Looooooool

BTW the "New" music in Sonic 3 and Knuckles are shitty versions of the prototype music. Believe me when I say that the prototype music sounds better than the Sonic origins rearrangements
