My God the way the song's lyrics Express terrified confusion at the hands of an abuser. The makeup shows the true face of violence and the horrible aftermath. Paris Paloma and the team that made the video strike a cord in me that induces anxiety and breathless. Had to take a break from watching this AND Listening. I am actually physically affected by the message and imagery. It's amazing work. I will listen to this in full but damn it's so ... Present.

This song is a work of art. I am actually in love! 😭 I think many women can relate to this song, especially "what did I do wrong?" A while ago I left an emotionally abusive/sexually manipulative relationship. I can still sometimes hear as he screamed that he was going to throw dog sh*t in my face when I didn't rush with a poop bag fast enough, as I was busy helping his mum (He also wasn't doing anything at the time) but I still thought to myself "yeah, I should have been faster, i'll do better" Better was never good enough. If you start to doubt your own sanity and genuinely ask yourself "what did I do wrong?" and then find ways to actually start blaming yourself for nothing. Please, please please find a way, any way to leave. You'll grow so much in a short time. You will also learn to not doubt who you are as a person and finally feel free again. ❤

THE SCREAM GAVE ME CHILLS
@blackholes87579 ай бұрын
All the symbolism!! The black dress, as opposed to the white ones she's seen wearing in kther music videos, reminds me of a fallen angel, which is supported by her asking what did i do wrong. The scratches and dirt also being signs of some sort of fall or fight. Then showing her in a red dress, clean looking. I think this might symbolize how she sees herself or wants to see herself. Not as an angel or a devil, but just as human, hence the red dress and not a black or white one. Then we see her in the black dress being pulled forwards and clips of her in the red dress looking down almost from an angle that suggests she's doing the pulling. This could symbolize her trying to bury the part of her that is seen as bad, or like the devil, or it could be her trying to pull herself into a better future, a version of the future where she gets to be that woman in the red dress. Anyways, as an ex-Mormon, im a sucker for religious symbolism, especially as it pertains to feminism and the patriarchy because who was the first man to be disappointed in us, if not God?

An absolute work of art!!!!! Watching you heal and name what you've experienced is truly inspiring and I hope that you realise your courage is genuinely helping others to heal more than you may ever know. Your ability to package your lyrics, music and visuals into strong artistic concepts with powerful messages is astounding. You're obviously a super talented musician but I genuinely believe you're going to make such a positive impact on the world from the activism standpoint too. Thank you for the music, Paris ♥

Paris you are simply amazing. I am so happy that how the lyrical, musical and visual lore I have encountered with on labour have built up to this incredibly well-thought album. I have followed every single your released with their music videos and could sense that it would become this beautifully integrated body of work eventually but seeing it as it happen is truly so special. You are like that perfect singer, book or a movie that one has sense that it will change their world and will loveit so preciously but keeps it waiting just to experience in "the very right moment" (at least I do it often and it mostly ends up just the right time). Your music basically brewed into that "right time" for me and its incredible to witness your big artistry. I am so so so grateful to I have seen you just at the very beginning of "labour" gaining attraction, listening to your previous singles and admiring them and waiting for this album to come out. I am only more excited for enjoying this album through and through before you cook your next work. Thank you for sharing your talent with us Paris ❤❤❤❤✨✨✨✨✨✨

My mind (now) LYRICS [Intro] What did I do wrong? Will you tell me? What I did wrong? What did I- What did I do wrong? Will you tell me? What I did wrong? What did I- [Verse] (What did I do wrong? Will you tell me? What I did wrong? What did I-) Was it a first offence? (What did I do wrong? Will you tell me? What I did wrong? What did I-) How long had you been harbouring that venom? (What did I do wrong? Will you tell me? What I did wrong? What did I-) You could have used your words then (What did I do wrong? Will you tell me? What I did wrong? What did I-) You wanted them to hurt, and so I let 'em (What did I do wrong? Will you tell me? What I did wrong? What did I-) Never would I beseech you (What did I do wrong? Will you tell me? What I did wrong? What did I-) As some sadistic vengeance exercise (What did I do wrong? Will you tell me? What I did wrong? What did I-) To endure what you put me through (What did I do wrong? Will you tell mе? What I did wrong? What did I-) I don't think you would pull out on the other side [Chorus] *gasps* I know you had a tеmper, but I guess I thought I was immune Felt is as you severed my mind tore it all of the way through And I was strawberry picking. You were gathering ammunition to use And the shrapnel digs in. My mind has not been silent since you- [Instrumental Interlude] [Outro] My mind has not been silent since you- What did I do wrong? Will you tell me? What I did wrong? What did I- What did I do wrong? Will you tell me? What I did wrong? What did I-

It’s been so difficult for me to talk about what has happened to me. I have been unable articulate it, and I’m trying so hard to start healing. I have lived this song. The beautiful lyrics have given me the words to explain exactly what I experienced. It’s comforting and heartbreaking to know that I’m not alone in my experiences. Family/friends try to help and be understanding, but it’s impossible to understand unless you have been in an abusive relationship/marriage/situation. It doesn’t end when you leave the abusive partner. The mental/emotional damage that is left behind can continue to control and affect your life for years. The Abuser lives on in your mind, even long after you leave. It is torture, But songs like this help quiet all the chaos in my mind. If you relate to the song too, I pray that you find your peace and that you heal. ❤
