@@nicholasolivas317 I’ve purchased his course and have picked up clients in my area. I haven’t had time to post to my reaction/motivation channel because I’ve been so busy with work. I definitely recommend it. I have a client in the gaming/supplement industry working with influencers & Im working on a contract with a skydiving company. It’s hard work, but it’s worth it. The thing is, i can use every bit of information that you shared and can ultimately use it to increase my productivity, manageability and also to grow my business as well. There were lots of diff aspects on which you talked about and i really do have to think about and work on those myself. Having a vision or a plan is the most important thing. This video has been so helpful to me and my videography business and it SHOULD have millions of views but people don't want to hear the truth to what it actually takes to grow. It takes hard work. You have to have patience. You're going to fail at first. That's all part of it. Having a strong "why" is very important. It's going to take time, and if you're not will to put in the work and do all the little things you need to do to grow your business, you will not stand out. Thank you Parker for this video. I've probably watched this over 30 times. Good to have a reminder of where I may be lacking in my own career. God Bless you!

Parker never came off to me as introverted but hearing him say that he is/was makes me feel at ease because I’d consider myself introverted so it’s a challenge to get in someone’s face and try to sell myself or my service. Over the years I’ve gotten much more comfortable and confident and I’ve taken trips down to Miami and walked into random businesses, I’ve showed my face and met with the owners etc. to build that connection. I’m a strong believer of getting up off your butt and going in now. Makes a very big difference.

I had a friend who took me on a lead to a potential client. They wanted me to film an “event” for free. We had one meeting about it, I asked a bunch of questions about the event and how they wanted the video to look. Long story short I didn’t get much out of them. So I show up to this “event” and it’s literally just elderly people driving up to a tent and getting food handed to them through their car window. I tried to back out because I knew the shoot was going to be pointless but I let my friend talk me into it. I think like 3-4 cars showed up and I had like maybe 10 minutes to shoot them a montage of something they didn’t even have a vision for. I was under the impression this was going to be happening for a few hours as they said it’s their biggest event of the year. I went to swap out to another lens after getting in some gimbal shots. Came back out after like 4 minutes and it was over. Needless to say they didn’t hire me for future projects and the video was trash and they expected something to come of it from a 10 minute “event.” I guess they decided to fork up some cash and hire someone to make them a promo video. If I had to give any advice it’s that if you’re going to do free work then make sure it’s for something you enjoy and know will turn out. If someone is begging you for free content then walk away.

next to our KZbin channel, we started doing paid work as editors and through that work just recently had the opportunity to shoot an event and an interview. For that we rented out a second pro camera and invested in a softbox and the DJI Mic system which is a game changer. Renting good cameras for high quality gigs costs next to nothing and ups the production value immensely. One thing we do to overdeliver is that we did not mention doing photography, but decided to get some good still shots of speakers and groups. We surprised them *the next day* with lightroom-edited full frame pictures for free, and now we're working on the video edit, which naturally takes longer.

Since Arthur gave such a great recap, I will keep this short and sweet. You can apply these principles to life. I am a Sr. Lead Information Security Analyst. Most of the "rules" can be applied directly to my life. Rule 3, and 4. How do I meet people in my field. Get involved so people know my name in a good way when they think about information security, or whatever job you do. Are there organizations, or annual conventions you might go to? You meet people, network, and opportunities will present themselves. Rule 9. This one is easy. What does my resume look like. Did I finally get that masters degree? How about those certifications I have been working on? Are there things in your career that will put you to the top of the stack for a potential job? In my case there are many companies that demand certain certifications, just to be considered. Get those to give you a leg up.

@@fulltimefilmmaker ngl, it's always been tempting to join FTF - the only thing that is holding me back is that aside from pure craft-related stuff, the business side of Your courses often does not apply to a "100 years back" models and attitudes of my local Central Eastern European market, not to mention sick legislative , taxes, or simply how people approach pro videography from a self-employed homie. Once I'm done dealing with all of these though - count me in!

I am 43 years young now, I started as what you could call a "Pro" when I was 16! My niche was always Skateboarding/BMX/Surfing/Snowboarding and I was fortunate enough to grow up with a crew who mostly became pro's in one of those sports. That goes in toe with your point about having contacts , I never had to cold call anyone, hell when I was making films there was no KZbin. Now days I shoot stuff for brands like Redbull, Vans, Powell, Hoffman, Quicksilver, Monster and on and on the past 7 years I've been doing stuff for the UFC and it has taken me all over the world. Unfortunately I don't believe it's correct to bring another person into this world and I don't really 'do' family so I will probably never retire, I skateboard and surf myself so I'll probably just live my days out doing what I do now because the action sport scene is always evolving and its amazing to be able to be involved. I probably have enough money now to never have to lift a finger again but I enjoy it so much, I guess it's a different feeling having to do real estate/weddings/commercial fuck man I couldn't stomach going to my best mates wedding let alone filming it for someone ha!

That feeling of having to work on something you don't want to do sucks. Agree with your comment. Btw, who do you think is going to win, Charles Oliveira or Makhachev?
@NMCWatkins2 жыл бұрын
@@ArthurChociai Hey! I have only just seen your reply...sorry! It's a really tough call to make, Ive been around both fighters whilst they train in the performance center in Vegas and they are truly incredible athletes. Charles is a monster and he has grown so much, he has a lot of power, his reactions are fast and obviously has one of the best BJJ games in the UFC, his a bad matchup for 95% of the division. However, Islam is incredibly strong, powerful, and has such good wrestling. Good wrestling cancels a lot of Charle's BJJ skills out and Islam is not as good as Charles on the feet. We know from past fights Islam will ALWAYS take it to the ground the same style as Khabib did, after Islam got knocked out he doesnt want to stand and bang with Charles that's for sure, Charles hurt Justin bad and Justin has a demi god chin. For me I think Islam takes him down and smothers him with constant top pressure and this is were we will see what Charles is made off. You can be the best fighter in the world but if you have someone on top of you knowing how to control you it basically nullifies you game to a point of absolute frustration and we know that Charles starts to fade when frustrated. I'm going to say Islam round 2 TKO, but, my money is on Charles round 3 sub :).
